I am seeing more people talk about Jesus in politics, the White House, music, entertainment, and social media. While that can be encouraging, many people are overlooking something important: a person’s actions matter more than their words.

I see many believers arguing over political views and trying to convince others to vote a certain way. However, Romans 14:5 teaches that every person should be fully persuaded in their own mind and heart concerning personal convictions before God. Some people may not even believe in voting. These are secondary beliefs.

What matters most is believing in Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, walking in love, and turning away from sin. We are under God’s government, not the world’s government. We should be led by the Holy Spirit, not by people or political systems.

Jesus did not spend His time endlessly debating people or trying to force belief on them through arguments. He demonstrated the love, power, wisdom, and character of God.

Believers spend so much time talking about singers, entertainers, influencers, and public figures who are not saved. But sinners practices a life of sin. Instead of constantly condemning the world, believers should let their light shine.

John 3:17 says that God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but so the world through Him might be saved.

Your testimony, your love, your character, and the demonstration of God working in your life will speak louder than endless debates online.

Where is our fruit?

Speaking About Jesus Is Not Enough

Matthew 7:21-23 teaches that not everyone who says “Lord, Lord” will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but only those who do the will of the Father. Jesus said that many people will claim they prophesied, cast out demons, and performed miracles in His name, but He will say to some of them, “I never knew you. Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness.”

This shows that outward appearances, religious activities, and public displays do not replace a true relationship with God.

Do You Show Love in Action?

1 John 3:14-22 teaches that love is evidence that we have passed from death to life. The passage explains that anyone who hates their brother or sister is spiritually walking in darkness. It reminds believers that Jesus demonstrated real love by laying down His life for us, and we should also be willing to love others sacrificially.

The scripture also says that if someone sees another person in need and has the ability to help but refuses compassion, God’s love is not operating in that person fully. It warns believers not to love only through words or speech, but through actions and truth.

Our actions reveal whether we truly belong to God, and genuine obedience gives us confidence before Him in prayer.

You Will Know Them by Their Fruit

Matthew 7:15-20 warns believers to beware of false prophets who may appear harmless outwardly but are inwardly dangerous. Jesus explained that people are identified by their fruit, meaning their actions, character, and lifestyle.

A good tree produces good fruit, while a corrupt tree produces bad fruit. Just as thorn bushes cannot produce grapes, a person walking contrary to God consistently cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit genuinely.

Jesus emphasized that fruit reveals the true condition of a person’s heart.

What Is the Fruit of the Spirit?

Galatians 5:22-23 teaches that the Holy Spirit produces these qualities in believers:

• Love
• Joy
• Peace
• Patience
• Kindness
• Goodness
• Faithfulness
• Gentleness
• Self-control

The scripture says there is no law against these things.

These qualities should be visible in the life of someone who follows Christ.

Evaluate Yourself Through the Holy Spirit

Jeremiah 17:9-10 teaches that the human heart is deceitful and desperately wicked beyond human understanding. However, God searches every heart, examines motives, and repays people according to their actions.

This is why believers must allow God to examine them honestly.

2 Corinthians 13:5 instructs believers to test and evaluate themselves to determine whether they are truly walking in the faith and living as committed followers of Christ. Instead of constantly examining everyone else, we should ask God to reveal areas in our own lives that need repentance and growth.

Confession and Repentance

1 John 1:9 teaches that if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us and continually cleanse us from unrighteousness.

Repentance is not weakness. Repentance is transformation.

God’s mercy gives us another opportunity to grow spiritually and become more like Christ.

Personal Reflection

I had to ask God to help me with self-control. Sometimes I can binge-watch shows, spend too much time scrolling online, or stay up later than I intended instead of spending time in the Word.

I repented and started making changes. I still have room to grow, but I am already seeing the benefits of sacrificing distractions and limiting unnecessary screen time.

God has me working on some things quietly until the manifestation is fully developed. I can already see progress, and I thank God for His patience, mercy, and grace toward me.

Prayer

Father, thank You for Your patience and mercy that I do not deserve. It is only because of Jesus and Your goodness that I can approach You.

I repent for quoting scriptures to convince others while failing to consistently produce fruit in my own life. Help me to show love through my actions so my faith can work effectively and manifest Your glory.

Teach me to let my light shine so others may see Your good works and glorify You.

Give me discernment so I will not be deceived. Many people can do works in Your name yet still not truly know You. I want a genuine relationship with You. I want to hear, “Well done,” and not, “Depart from Me, I never knew you.”

Search my heart and examine my motives because the heart can be deceitful. Help me judge myself daily so I may continue growing spiritually.

Thank You for victory through Jesus Christ.
