God gave me the phrase while reading Genesis 3 . Eve was deceived by the serpent because she did not know the truth. Adam knew the truth, but allowed what looked and sounded good to cause him to go against what God said to him. We have to be careful what we listen to. We can’t allow what looks, feels, and sounds good to keep us from having a victorious year.
Stay with the word until it transforms you.
Romans 12:2 NLT: Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
John 8:31-32 ERV: So Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, “If you continue to accept and obey my teaching, you are really my followers. 32 You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
Romans 10:17 KJV: So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Meditate and speak the word to succeed in every area of our lives.
Joshua 1:8 Amplified Version: This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.
Avoid distractions that get you off course.
Mark 4:19 Amplified Version: but the worries and cares of the world [the distractions of this age with its worldly pleasures], and the deceitfulness [and the false security or glamour] of wealth [or fame], and the passionate desires for all the other things creep in and choke out the word, and it becomes unfruitful.
Resist anything that is not in line with the word of God!
2 Corinthians 10:5 King James Version: Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
James 4:7 KJV: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
When you mess up, repent and get back on track. Do not let condemnation keep you going the wrong way.
1 John 1:9 KJV: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Romans 8:1 KJV: There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Proverbs 24:16 NIV: for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.
Testimony: God has been dealing with me about my speech. Thoughts will come to my mind, and I was tempted to say something wrong. God would stop me from saying what comes to mind that is not in line with His word. I had to repent during the week and get back in line with God’s word. I thank God for continuing to transform me into His image and likeness, so that I may mirror Jesus.
Prayer: God, thank you for giving me the victory through your Son, Jesus. I repent for allowing thoughts and listening to what is not in line with God’s word. I continue in the word of God, get rid of distractions by submitting to God, resist the devil, and he flees. When I mess up, I repent, get back on track, and realize there is no condemnation when I get back in Christ. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
