The phrase came to me as I was reading Genesis 9 after the flood, and Noah and his family were saved. God blessed Noah as He did to Adam and Eve in Genesis 1:28. What is the blessing, and how can I operate in it?
The blessing:
Genesis 1: 28 NLT: 28 Then God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground.”
Genesis 9:1-2 NLT: Then God blessed Noah and his sons and told them, “Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth. 2 All the animals of the earth, all the birds of the sky, all the small animals that scurry along the ground, and all the fish in the sea will look on you with fear and terror. I have placed them in your power.
How to operate in the blessing:
Stay in the Word of God.
John 15:5 NLT: “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.
Psalm 1:1-3 Living Translation: Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. 2 But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely.3 They are like trees along a riverbank bearing luscious fruit each season without fail. Their leaves shall never wither, and all they do shall prosper.
Speak the word.
Isaiah 65:16 AMPC Version: So [it shall be] that he who invokes a blessing on himself in the land shall do so by saying.
Proverbs 18:20-21 NKJV: A man’s stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth;
From the produce of his lips he shall be filled.21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 13:2 NIV: From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things
Be consistent, stay in love, which is patient.
Galatians 5:6 AMPC: For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.
Hebrews 6:12 NKJV:12 that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV: But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Prayer: I do not stress about anything because, through Jesus, it is already finished. I repent of sin and not walking in love. I am consistent and diligent with the word of God, and I speak it to bear fruit. The blessing of the Lord makes me rich without adding sorrow or toil with it. I am anxious for nothing, but by everything through prayer and supplication I make my request known unto God, and the peace of God leads me. In Jesus name! Amen.
