This phrase came to me while listening to an anointed speaker teaching on grace. So often, people work tirelessly trying to receive from God. They fast, pray, read their Bible daily—and still feel like they are getting nowhere. Then, when a breakthrough does come, some begin to praise all that they have done.

But the truth is this: it is because of God’s love and His goodness—through His Son Jesus—that we are made worthy.

Our only boast is in God.

Ephesians 2:8–9 (NIV)
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.”

Isaiah 42:8 (NLT)
“I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols.”

Any miracles, signs, or wonders performed through a person are not by their own power—they are God working through them as they yield to Him.

John 14:10 (AMP)
“The words I say to you I do not say on My own initiative or authority, but the Father, abiding continually in Me, does His works.”

Zechariah 4:6 (AMP)
“Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord of hosts.

Walk in Repentance and Love

We are called to repent and walk in love. When we repent, we are no longer condemned.

Psalm 66:18 (NLT)
“If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened.”

1 John 1:9 (NIV)
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”

Romans 8:1–2
“There is now no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus… the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.”

“Love each other. Just as I have loved you… Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”

Believe, Receive, Trust, and Obey

Good deeds and works alone will not save us. Salvation and victory come through faith in Jesus.

Romans 10:9–10 (NKJV)
“If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

John 14:12–14 (NLT)
“Anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done—and even greater works… You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

“For anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works… For the word of God is alive and active…”

Reflection

I am learning more each day to depend on God and to accept His finished work. No amount of prayer, fasting, or good deeds can make me qualified. I am only qualified through Jesus.

God works through me as I yield, trust, believe, receive, and obey Him. When I fall short, I repent and refuse to walk in condemnation. Instead, I trust in the blood of Jesus, which cleanses me from all unrighteousness.

I am grateful that I have victory through Jesus.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for loving me and choosing me. I boast in You—not in anything I have done—because my righteousness is like filthy rags without You.

I choose to believe, receive, trust, and obey You. Work through me for Your glory.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
