This phrase came to me while listening to an anointed speaker. We will all face trouble, but Jesus told us to be of good cheer because He has overcome the world.
Just as a car cannot keep running on empty, neither can we. The enemy wants us spiritually drained so we will become weary and quit. We must fill our spirit with God’s Word and His presence so we have strength for the journey.
Fill Your Spirit
Ephesians 5:18–20 (NLT) teaches us to be filled with the Holy Spirit, worship God, and continually give Him thanks.
Galatians 6:7–10 reminds us that whatever we sow, we will reap. When we sow into the Spirit and refuse to grow weary, we will reap in due season if we do not give up.
1 Timothy 4:7–8 teaches us to train ourselves in godliness because spiritual training benefits us both now and for eternity.
Make time for God’s Word. Read it, listen to it, meditate on it, and speak it throughout your day—while driving, doing chores, or resting. Remove distractions that are starving your spirit.
Don’t run on empty. Fill up on God’s Word. As you become spiritually full, you will grow stronger, experience greater peace, and be less moved by what is happening around you.
Prayer
God, thank You for Your Word, which is spirit and life. I repent for feeding my flesh while starving my spirit. I choose to fill myself daily with Your Word and Your presence. I am strong, full, and not moved by what I see. I will not quit or run on empty. Fill me so I can pour into others and finish the journey You have given me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
