Don’t Rush Too Fast! God Is Building Us To Last!

blog post

It is easy to want to arrive at your destination instantly. However, just like children who are given things too soon, we can make a mess of things when we are not ready. Whether it is school, college, athletics, or a job, promotion comes after training. We go through different stages, and the higher we go, the more responsibilities and challenges come with it.

I remember when I was anxious and wanted to go to the next level. God gave me this phrase: “Enjoy Where You Are and You Will Go Far.”

Job 23:10 says, “But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.”

Job went through health issues, the loss of his children, and financial trouble all at once. Yet he continued to praise and trust God. In the end, God restored everything back to him multiplied.

James 1:12 NLT says, “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

I experienced this on my job. I was forced to either go back on the phone or quit after the company decided they needed new people in my monitoring position. It was embarrassing and hurtful because people I once monitored now saw me working on the phone with them.

Still, I remained faithful and did my assignment to the best of my ability. After about a year or two, a supervisor asked me to join a special team. Some people told me to stay where I was because they heard there would be challenges ahead. I accepted the position anyway.

At first, the job was easy, but later more tasks and challenges came to my team. I remained faithful because promotion comes from God, and I knew He would bring me through it. Later, there was a pay increase for different teams, and the team I was on received the highest pay grade—seven times over.

Going back to the phone prepared me for the next challenge and promotion. In the end, I received a pay increase and more knowledge of the business. God takes us from faith to faith and glory to glory.

There were times I wanted to quit, but God told me to keep going. The test prepared me for the blessing.

Prayer

Thank You, God, for being faithful. You know the end of every situation because You see and know all things. I repent for being anxious and wanting to get out of challenges too quickly. Help me to be patient and allow You to guide me through every challenge.

As I seek You, I will be whole, complete, and lacking nothing. I have a firm foundation because my house is built on the Rock. No matter how the rain falls or the winds blow, I know You will get me to the other side.

Thank You for taking me from faith to faith and glory to glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
