We have all taken tests before. In school, we studied ahead of time, and when the teacher handed out the test, we had to be silent. The same principle can apply to the tests we face in life. We prepare by studying and applying the Word of God.
In Joshua 6, God instructed Joshua and the Israelites to march around Jericho. They were not to shout until the appointed time. On the seventh day, after following God’s instructions, they shouted—and the walls fell.
Sometimes during a difficult season, it is good to be quiet and listen to God for instructions instead of speaking out of fear or frustration.
Prepare Before the Test
In Matthew 4, Jesus was led into the wilderness to be tested. He prepared through fasting. When Satan tempted Him, Jesus answered repeatedly:
“It is written.”
Jesus fought the enemy with the Word of God. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God’s Word is living, powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword.
Prayer and fasting can help us draw closer to God and prepare spiritually. We can also set aside distractions—social media, television, and other activities—and spend more time praying, studying God’s Word, listening, praising, and worshiping.
Life may bring tests we never expected, but we can prepare ourselves beforehand through God’s Word.
Until God gives you instructions, keep trusting Him and thanking Him for the victory you believe is coming.
Put Your Mouth to Rest During a Test!
Prayer:
God, thank You for being all-knowing and for being with me through every test. Help me prepare through prayer, fasting, and Your Word. Forgive me for speaking words that do not agree with Your Word. Help me to be quiet and listen for Your instructions. When the enemy attacks, help me respond with, “It is written.” I trust You and thank You for the victory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I enjoy your work, thankyou for all the good articles.
