It’s Distasteful to Be Ungrateful!
We have all been guilty of being ungrateful. We receive something we want, but instead of appreciating it, we begin looking for the next thing. The human heart is never satisfied.
1 Thessalonians 5:16–18 NLT:
“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
Rejoice Always
Life brings financial difficulties, failed relationships, and the loss of loved ones, especially during the holidays. It’s okay to cry, but don’t allow sorrow to consume you.
David wept when he lost everything, but he encouraged himself in the Lord.
Nehemiah 8:10: “The joy of the LORD is your strength.”
Proverbs 17:22: “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine.”
Surround yourself with godly, positive people. Sometimes a good laugh helps relieve stress!
Pray Without Ceasing
Prayer is simply communicating with God. I even vent to God as I would to my best friend. Whether things are going well or falling apart, keep praying. Your relationship with God strengthens you through life’s challenges.
Give Thanks in Everything
In Numbers 14, the Israelites complained and wandered in the wilderness for 40 years. Complaining keeps us focused on problems, but gratitude helps us move forward.
Thank God for what you have instead of constantly focusing on what you lack.
Psalm 100:4: “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Remember, no one enjoys being around constant complaining. Choose gratitude over a bad attitude!

I will rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in every circumstance. I will not complain and remain. I will praise God and move forward!

Father, thank You for Your faithfulness and for making me an heir to Your kingdom. Forgive me for complaining. I choose joy over misery, prayer over worry, and gratitude over complaining. When I am discouraged, I will lean on Your strength and give thanks, knowing my victory is in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
