If You Think About What Will Go Wrong, Your Faith Is Not Strong!

Developing Strong Faith

This phrase came to me while listening to an anointed speaker. Many of us pray and ask God to strengthen our faith, but often we overlook the fact that God has already given us tools in His Word to help us develop strong faith.

Faith must be exercised in order to grow. Just like a muscle, it becomes stronger through use—by speaking, meditating, and acting on God’s Word.

Luke 17:5–6 (NLT)
The apostles said to the Lord, “Show us how to increase our faith.”
The Lord answered, “If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, ‘May you be uprooted and be planted in the sea,’ and it would obey you!”

Jesus shows us that faith does not have to be large to be effective—it simply has to be used.

Psalm 1:2–3 (NLT)
They delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season.

Meditating on God’s Word positions us to be rooted, nourished, and fruitful. Faith grows when the Word becomes our daily focus.

2 Corinthians 5:7 (NLT)
For we walk by faith, not by sight.

Faith requires us to move forward even when we do not see the outcome yet.

1 Timothy 4:8–10 (NLT)
Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.

Just as physical strength requires discipline, spiritual strength requires intentional training. Faith grows when we consistently choose godliness and trust in the living God.

Cast Down Negative Thoughts and Fear

One of the biggest enemies of faith is unchecked thoughts.

2 Corinthians 10:5 (KJV)
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

We must actively reject thoughts that contradict God’s Word.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV)
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Fear does not come from God. When fear tries to rise, we must remind ourselves of the power, love, and sound mind God has already given us.

Take Small Steps—Faith Will Increase

Faith grows progressively.

Romans 1:17
For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—from faith to faith… “The just shall live by faith.”

Each step of obedience builds upon the last. God takes us from faith to faith as we trust Him with what we have.

Testimony

An unexpected expense came up—something completely out of the norm. Instead of worrying, I continued to speak God’s Word, declaring that He supplies all of my needs. I thanked God daily and sowed a seed from the money I had.

I was taught that where there is a need, you plant a seed. God honored His Word. He supplied what was needed and showed Himself faithful. I used what I had, and God took me from faith to faith until it manifested.

Prayer

God, thank You for giving each of us a measure of faith. I repent for not always using what I have and for failing to exercise my faith. I cast down every thought and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. I take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.

I reject fear, because fear is not from You. I receive power, love, and a sound mind—the mind of Christ. Thank You, God, that You always cause me to triumph in You.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
