When the Devil Throws You For A Loop, Take It to the Hoop!

This blog was inspired by my co-worker, Temacha. I gave her some of the phrases God gave me for the blog which really encouraged her. Temacha applied the phrases from the blog when encountering challenging situations. One phrase in particular was from my previous blog: “The best support is God in your court.” God gave her a revelation from that phrase to “Take it to the hoop.” No matter what the situation is, God is cheering you on. It doesn’t matter if you have to go to the 4th quarter or overtime, give it all you got. We started praising God together on how powerful God is. While praising God with her, the catchphrase came to me for the blog.

We all have challenging situations that come at us one after the other to get us to complain and be miserable; causing fear and doubt. However, God already won the battle for us by sending His Son Jesus. All we have to do is believe, receive, act, and the manifestation comes.

Just like in a basketball game, the coach gives the team strategies to win and defeat their opponent. God is our coach and he gave us strategies through the word of God to defeat satan.

My coworker told me she put the phrases from the blog in front of her so she can see them. She then spoke the phrases. She acted out the scriptures Proverbs 4:21, Joshua 1:8, and Proverbs 3:3.

Proverbs 4:20-22 King James Version: 20  attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

Proverbs 3:1-4 NIV My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Know your enemy/ opponent. Our enemy is the devil. Satan is a thief!

John 10:10 says 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

When situations come to try and steal your joy, destroy, and kill you, resist it.

James 4:7 says Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Throw the devil a curve ball by beginning to praise God in the midst of challenges. It confuses the devil.

Psalm 68:1 says let God arise and the enemies be scattered.

Do like Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, begin to praise God by saying “The Lord is good and his mercy endures forever.”

When the devil throws you for a loop, take it to the hoop!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for sending your son Jesus to win the battle for me. I repent for letting the devil steal from me. I take authority through the word of God. I don’t let the word of God depart from my eyes or my mouth. I keep it in the midst of my heart. Faithfulness to God’s word and walking in love gives me favor. I am not overcome by evil, but I overcome evil with good. I praise God in the midst of every battle because God is good and His mercy endures forever! I give you the praise and the glory in Jesus’ name! Amen

Living is Staying in the Light God’s Given

Webster’s definition : Light:  something that makes vision possible.

In order to see, we have to keep the light on. How do we keep the light on concerning our spiritual senses? It is through the word of God.

Psalm 119:105: Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

Psalm 119:130: The unfolding of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.

The key is staying with the light that is given to us.

John 12:35-36 “You are going to have the light just a little while longer. Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you. Whoever walks in the dark does not know where they are going. Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light”

Hebrews 2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

Personal Testimony: I was prompted on the inside to watch Esther on Netflix. I followed the light that was given to me. I watched Esther and more light came for me to fast. I fasted and God gave me a dream while I was asleep to do freelance writing. I walked into the light I was given and researched freelance writing and blog jumped out at me. I spoke to my writing advisor, Mrs. Nichols, about it and she asked me what am I passionate about? I told her encouraging people. Mrs. Nichols stated that is what you are to write about. More light was given to me as I was walking and the title of the first blog came to me with a catchy rhyme: “Spring brings new things”. The phrases kept coming for each blog as I stayed walking in the light. One of the ladies named Valerie told me I should make t-shirts with the phrases from the blog. I did research on it to build a foundation before going into making the t-shirts. I am now on the journey making t-shirts and other items will be on my site coming soon. I am thankful to be used by God.

Refer to blog titled “Maintain what you gain

Living is staying in the light God’s has given!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being the way, the truth and the light. God, I repent for not staying with the light when things become challenging. I ask for your grace and your strength to help me. I continue in the Light of your word. Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path when I don’t know which way to go. I stick with the process until it becomes reality. I give you the praise and the glory in Jesus name! Amen!

Freedom Charter Through The Father

This phrase came to me not knowing what freedom charter means.

The Freedom Charter: A document setting out guidelines for human rights and the duties of the state in a democratic South Africa, for many years the political manifesto of the African National Congress, the Charter,

God gave us all free will and a choice. However, in order to be completely free, we have to follow the guidelines of the word of God.

Galatians 5:13 Common English Version: You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only don’t let this freedom be an opportunity to indulge your selfish impulses, but serve each other through love.

Deuteronomy !3:19 Easy Read Version 19 “Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children/descendants will live.

Our actions have consequences. Just because we are free to do whatever pleases us, doesn’t mean we should do it. It can end in actual death as well as spiritual death. Some of us are dead people walking because of the bad choices we made. The only thing we should die out to is our sinful nature which leads to destruction. As believers, let us choose life which is the path of Jesus.

Thank God, Jesus has made us free, Who the Son sets free is free indeed!

In honor of Juneteenth and Father’s Day, God gave me a declaration:

The Freedom Charter Declaration

I, _____ declare there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for I am in Christ Jesus [I believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set me free from the law of sin and of death. I am redeemed from the curse through Jesus’ blood. I have freedom now because Christ made me free. So, I stand strong in that freedom. I do not go back into slavery again. I stay where the spirit of the Lord is because there is freedom. I know the truth of God’s word and the truth sets me free. I am called to be free however, I do not use freedom for evil, and selfish desires but by love I serve others. Thank God I am free. Because the Son sets me free, I am free in deed!

Freedom charter through the Father!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for making me free. Thank you for giving me freedom to choose. I repent for choosing things that brings death. Today I choose life so me and my descendants can live. I refuse to go back to slavery and bondage because you have redeemed me from the curse through Jesus’ blood. Thank God I am free. Because the Son sets me free, I am truly free! I receive my freedom in Jesus name! Amen.

Don’t be Rude. Get A New Attitude!

The title was inspired by my dad two weeks ago after spending time with God,
We all have fallen short at times with our attitude. Even
though we are believers in Christ our old nature can rise. We as believers can
put our old flesh under with the word of God and asking God to help us, It is
almost like going to the cross spiritually because sometimes it is painful and
take everything in us to walk in love. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31 that he
died daily to his evil and sin nature. It is good to read 1 Corinthians 13
daily on love to remind and examine ourselves.

My dad also mentioned that we block our blessing with things in our hearts
that are not pleasing to God. We can be giving offerings and tithes to certain
ministries and giving to organizations, but if our heart is not right it will
not work. My dad told me about Cain and Abel in Genesis 4. God accepted Abel’s
offering but did not accept Cain’s offering because of what was in his heart.
Cain became angry and murdered his own brother.

Some of you are saying I would not murder my own sibling or my sisters and
brothers in Christ. 1 John 3 Voice Version: 11 The
central truth—the one you have heard since the beginning of your faith—is
that we must love one another. 12 Please do not act like
Cain, who was of the evil one. He brutally murdered his own
brother. Why would he do something so despicable? Because his life was
devoted to evil and selfishness, and his brother chose to do what is
right.13 Brothers and sisters, don’t be shocked if
the corrupt world despises you. 14 We know that
we have crossed over from death to real life because we are devoted to true
love for our brothers and sisters. Anyone who does not love lives among
corpses.
Do you ever wonder if you are
just silently sleeping through days, months, and years? There is one indicator
of real life: true love for others.
15 Everyone
who hates other members of God’s family is a murderer. Does a murderer possess
the beautiful life that never ends? No. 16 We
know what true love looks like because of Jesus. He gave His life for us, and
He calls us to give our lives for our brothers and sisters.

We cannot love God and hate someone because God is love. We can despise or hate
a person way but not the person. As believers we should pray for those who
slanders and does evil towards us (Matthew 5:44) which keeps hatred out of our hearts.

Ephesians 4: 31-32 Amplified Version says: 31 Let all
bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor [perpetual animosity, resentment,
strife, fault-finding] and slander be put away from you, along with every kind
of malice [all spitefulness, verbal abuse, malevolence]. 32 Be
kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate,
understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in
Christ also forgave you.

The inner man is new, now work on the other part of you; read previous blog
to remind yourself click link https://adamsfamilyinspirations.com/2018/05/20/the-inner-man-is-new-now-work-on-the-other-part-of-you/

Don’t be rude! Get a new attitude!

Prayer: Lord thank you for loving me in my worst state and forgiving me
of all the wrong I have done recently and in the past. God I am made in your
image and likeness. I ask you to search my heart of any evil and lead me to the
way of everlasting, The heart can be wicked but God you know and searches my heart.
God put a check in my spirit when my motives are wrong. Anything that is
blocking your flow and the blessing you reveal it to me. I continue to remind
myself of God’s love by meditating and showing love in action. I humble myself
before you because you resist the proud but gives grace to the humble. God, I
need your grace every day. I am transformed by renewing my mind to your word. I
thank you for transformation, In Jesus name! Amen

It’s the Stage, Not the Age!

God used my Aunt Mary for the title of the blog listening to T.D. Jakes’ teaching.

Webster’s meaning: Stage-a period or step in a process, activity, or development

You have some people that are young but are developed more in certain areas than people who are older. My grandmother Luecile would say “there is nothing worse than an old fool.”

Joseph in Genesis Chapters 37-45, started at the age of 17 on his journey and was promoted second in command by the age of 30 through his gift of interpreting dreams. He operated through love when his family and everyone was doing evil towards him, and God promoted him.

Samuel anointed David, the youngest out of his brothers, as king. 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV: But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The good news is if you are at a stage in life that you are not developed in, it is never too late.

Joshua and Caleb went into the promised land at the age of 85. Moses was 80 when he led the Israelites out of Egypt.

You are never too young to be used by God and you are never too old for God to use you in a mighty way. God can restore the years that has been taken away from you. (Joel 2:25)

The man at the pool of Bethesda in John Chapter 5, had been at that stage for 38 years, making excuses. Jesus asked the man at the pool, “Do you want to be healed?” The man said yes, and Jesus told him to take up his bed and walk. My Aunt Mary would say to me when I would procrastinate or make excuses, “All you have to do is step.” Certain prices I paid spiritually and literally, were from making excuses. I love the song by Tramaine Hawkins “The Potter’s House.” I love the verse, “You don’t have to stay in the state that you’re in/ the potter wants to put you back together again/ Joy in the potter’s house/Peace in the potter’s house Love in the potter’s house/There is salvation in the potter’s house/There is healing in the potter’s house/There is deliverance in the potter’s house/ You will find everything you need in the potter’s house.

It is a person’s stage, not the age!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me and being patient. I repent for making excuses and remaining in the terrible stage I am in. I take up my bed and walk into the blessing God has already provided for me. Man looks on the outward. I thank you, God, you look on my heart. God, I ask you to search my heart for any evil in me and lead me in the way that is everlasting. Your word says those who have a pure heart receives a blessing from you. I let you Lord do surgery on my heart and restore the years in my life. I praise you in advance in Jesus’ name! Amen.

The Best Support Is God In Your Court

Some of you are familiar with the saying in the bible (paraphrasing) “Good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over will men give unto you when you give” (Luke 6:38). God works through people to give to you. You don’t have to beg people to do anything for you. God will move on the hearts of people to do it. God will never fail you, but people can and will. As long as you walk upright with integrity and in the love of God, favor surrounds you as a shield. (Psalm 5:12)

You may feel that you should get the support from people you know such as family and friends but the word of God says, owe no man nothing but love (Romans 13:8). No one is obligated to do anything for anyone. It should be a choice. It helps me not get in my feelings and to put my trust in God.

Jeremiah 17:5 says: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength”

Jeremiah 17: -7-8 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Joseph did not have the support of his family, but God was with him every step of the way. He had the God kind of love. He walked in integrity and the gift God gave him. He went from the pit to the palace, even when he had obstacles at every turn. Read Genesis 37-45 on the life of Joseph.

Daniel was thrown in the lion’s den. Daniel trusted in God and would not compromise his love and faith in God. God protected Daniel and the lions did not touch him. Read Daniel 6.

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:8-25, did not bow to a golden image. They trusted in God. When king Nebuchadnezzar threatened to throw them in the fire for not bowing to a golden image, they said the “God we serve will deliver us from the fiery furnace.” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown in the fire but came out without even the smell of smoke. The king said didn’t we throw in three? The men said yes, but the fourth one is like the son of the living God. God delivered them.

Operate in the blessing by trusting, loving, and serving God with our whole being. Trusting in people and things is operating under a curse, which makes you miserable. Psalm 8:34 says, happy is the man who trusts in the Lord. If you are miserable, your trust is not in God.

The best support is God in your court!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for being faithful, full of compassion and mercy. God I repent for trusting in people and things causing me to be disappointed and miserable. God, you are the same today, yesterday, and forever; you do not change. My emotions, people, things, and situations may change, but your character and love fails not. I thank you that as long as my trust is in you when I go through fire and challenging situations, you deliver me and see me through it. I will be like a tree always bearing fruit and my leaves will not wither. I am rooted and grounded in the word. When God is for me, who can be against me! Hallelujah! I give you the praise in Jesus name! Amen.

Access God’s Best

God used my dad for the title of this blog. God wants the best for us.
Everything goes back to the word of God.

Romans 5:1-2 Amplified Version: Therefore, since we
have been justified [that is, acquitted of sin, declared blameless before God]
by faith, [let us grasp the fact that] we have peace with God [and the joy of
reconciliation with Him] through our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed). Through
Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which
we [firmly and safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in
our hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and
enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and
power].

Thank God for Jesus sacrificing His life for our sins. We now have access
through faith in Jesus and the word of God. Our confidence in Jesus and the
word of God activates His power and manifests glory in our lives. That is
enough to rejoice about. However, when challenges come, we have to remain in
faith to receive.

Romans 5:3-5 And not only this, but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice
in our hardships, knowing that hardship (distress, pressure, trouble) produces
patient endurance; and endurance, proven character
(spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope
and confident
assurance [of eternal salvation]. Such hope [in God’s
promises] never disappoints
us, because
God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy
Spirit who was given to us.

Glory to God! Endure is the cure! Rejoice knowing that
victory is on the other side. God always causes us to triumph through Him (Corinthians
2:14
). The challenges that we face while holding onto our faith are
preparation for the next challenge. There is a saying “New level,
new devil.”
Like Job, when you are put through the fire you will
come out as gold (Job 23:10), Don’t settle where you are; receive
the best God has for you. It develops our character.

Access God’s Best!

Prayer: Thank you God for the gift of Jesus. I now have access through
faith to all God’s promises which are all yes and amen. Lord. I repent for
settling and letting challenges get the best of me. I rejoice in my challenges
because it is preparing me for the next level. I am coming out as gold. Thank you,
God, you always cause me to triumph through you.
In Jesus name! Amen.

Win Souls, That is The Goal

Pastor Gaines taught last Sunday on being a fisherman for lost souls as a believer in Jesus. The phrase for the blog came to me one morning. God spoke to me the next morning to view lost people that do not know Jesus as a mother longing for a difficult son/daughter to change or come back home. We as believers should have the same heart as God, bringing His children back to Him. We are made in His image and likeness. I teared up thinking about God’s love towards us. It is just like a mother’s love for her children. True mothers only want the best for their son/daughter and do not want to see them hurt or self-destruct. God is the same way.

John 3:16-17 16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10)

It came to me about the parable of the lost sheep in Luke 15 (I advise to read the complete chapter). Jesus mentioned about a person having a hundred sheep and one is missing and how he goes back to find the sheep. Once the sheep is found, the person rejoices saying “I have found my lost sheep.” Jesus said heaven rejoices over one sinner that repents than 99 persons who don’t need to repent.

I thought about a mother with her children, and one running off. Even though the mother has other children, she still goes back and looks for the missing child. On this Mother’s Day, let us remember moms, grandmothers, aunts, and every mother who gave us love. The mothers who prayed for us, gave us words of wisdom, disciplined us to keep us on the right path, showed patience, and loves unconditionally. Most important remember God’s love towards us.

Win souls, that is the goal!

Prayer: God, thank you for loving me and for giving your only Son Jesus as a sacrifice and saving me. God, you are not willing that any should perish but that all come to repentance.  Just like a mother wants the best for their children, you want the best for us. God let your love flow through me. God, I repent for not showing enough concern for the lost and only thinking of myself. God, I take advantage of every opportunity to bring lost souls into the kingdom of God. Heaven rejoices over one sinner coming to God. Thank you, God, for your unconditional love. In Jesus name! Amen

Don’t Give Up Your Right, For A Bite!

The phrase for the blog came to me as I was meditating on a Christian movie my Aunt Mary told me to watch called “The Power of the Air”. I talked to my dad about the revelation I received from a scene in the movie dealing with food. My dad told me in the bible, bread was used to make a covenant. During those times, whenever you ate bread with someone, you were making a covenant with them. There is a saying “A way to a man’s heart is his stomach.” I thought of several instances in the bible when the devil used food to lure people in to deceive them.

Adam and Eve Eats the Forbidden Fruit

God told Adam in Genesis 2, every tree of the garden they could eat but the tree of the knowledge of good and evil they could not eat. The consequence was death (spiritual death). Adam knew the truth, so the serpent went to Eve first. Genesis 3:4-6 Easy Read Version But the snake said to the woman, “You will not die. God knows that if you eat the fruit from that tree you will learn about good and evil, and then you will be like God!”The woman could see that the tree was beautiful, and the fruit looked so good to eat. She also liked the idea that it would make her wise. So, she took some of the fruit from the tree and ate it. Her husband was there with her, so she gave him some of the fruit, and he ate it.

Adam and Eve were kicked/driven out of the garden and brought sin and a curse into the world.

Esau Sold His Birthright for Jacob’s Stew

Genesis 25:29-34 Living Translation: 29 One day Jacob was cooking stew when Esau arrived home exhausted from the hunt.30 Esau: “Boy, am I starved! Give me a bite of that red stuff there!” (From this came his nickname “Edom,” which means “Red Stuff.”)31 Jacob: “All right, trade me your birthright for it!”32 Esau: “When a man is dying of starvation, what good is his birthright?” 33 Jacob: “Well then, vow to God that it is mine!” And Esau vowed, thereby selling all his eldest-son rights to his younger brother. 34 Then Jacob gave Esau bread, peas, and stew; so, he ate and drank and went on about his business, indifferent to the loss of the rights he had thrown away.

The Man of God from Judah

1 Kings 13:14-23 :13 The old prophet went after the man of God. He found him sitting under an oak tree and asked him, “Are you the man of God who just came from Judah?” The man of God answered, “Yes, I am.”15 So the old prophet said, “Please come home and eat with me.”16 But the man of God said, “I cannot go home with you. I cannot eat or drink anything in this place. 17 The Lord said to me, ‘You must not eat or drink anything in that place, and you must go back on a different road.’”18 The old prophet lied to him and said, “But I am a prophet like you. And an angel from the Lord came to me and told me to bring you home and give you something to eat and drink.”19 So the man of God went to the old prophet’s house and ate and drank with him. 20 While they were sitting at the table, the Lord spoke to the old prophet, 21 and the old prophet spoke to the man of God from Judah. He said, “The Lord said that you did not obey him! You did not do what he commanded. 22 He told you not to eat or drink anything in this place, but you came back here and ate and drank. So, your body will not be buried in your family grave.”23 The man of God finished eating and drinking. Then the old prophet saddled the man’s donkey for him, and the man left. 24 On the way home, a lion attacked and killed the man of God. His body was lying on the road while the lion stood next to it. The donkey stood nearby. 25 Some people came walking by and saw the body and the lion standing by it. They went into the city where the old prophet lived and told people what they had seen on the road.

Jesus is Tested in the Wilderness

Matthew 4:3-4Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’

I noticed that in each situation the devil tempted them when they were on a spiritual high or when they were at their lowest. We must be aware of the devil’s schemes. Jesus resisted the devil with the word of God. When the devil comes at us say, “it is written.” Study and know the word of God so you can resist the devil when tempted.

We are spiritually aware when: we acknowledge God in all our ways, and He will direct our path (Proverbs 3:6).

1 Peter 5:8 Amplified Version Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be always alert and cautious. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.

Galatians 6:8 Amplified Version: For the one who sows to his flesh [his sinful capacity, his worldliness, his disgraceful impulses] will reap from the flesh ruin and destruction, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Do not give up your right for a bite!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for sending me your Holy Spirit that lives in me. I repent for sowing to my flesh reaping corruption desensitizing me to the devil’s schemes and the voice of God. I walk in the spirit and do not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. I am in the world not of the world. God, I acknowledge you in all my ways rather I am on a spiritual high or in the valley and you direct my path. God help me in areas that I am weak. I lean on your strength. I have no confidence in myself but trust in God. I will not give up my rights in God for a piece of food or whatever the devil uses to lure me in to bite the hook. I do not live by bread/food alone. but every word that comes from God. I let my life be the proof of Jesus’ love and sacrifice to bring the lost into the kingdom of God. In Jesus name!
