The phrase for the blog came to me at a meeting at work on diversity. One of the instructors mentioned how she still loved the people in her neighborhood even though they had different beliefs but still shared some things in common. She stayed firm in her belief and agreed to disagree. We as believers in Jesus can share Jesus with people but it doesn’t mean that everyone will accept it. We should live the life of love and let people see the power of God operating through us. God doesn’t force us to do what we don’t want to do. He gives us a choice. Some people wonder why evil happens on earth. It is because the person chose evil and others suffered because of it. God is not a person that He should lie(Numbers 23:19). He can’t give us a choice and then control what others do. It is contradictory to his word. We as believers in Jesus should do the same.
Romans 12:18 NIV If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
1 Timothy 2:1-3 Easy Read Version: First of all, I ask that you pray for all people. Ask God to bless them and give them what they need. And give thanks. 2 You should pray for rulers and for all who have authority. Pray for these leaders so that we can live quiet and peaceful lives—lives full of devotion to God and respect for him. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior.
We meet people from all walks of life that are raised differently and view things differently. The greatest commandment is to love. We can share Jesus with people. If they reject it, pray for them and live the life in front of them. I am a concert person. Music unites people no matter what background we have. It is amazing to hear how different songs got someone through challenges or a happy occasion. You see different races and different variety of styles at a concert. To see the love for the artist’s music, and everyone together is all love. It is like living in harmony. We were made to love. Just because someone doesn’t support you because of their belief, doesn’t mean they don’t love you. I love the story my sister tells me about a coworker who didn’t believe in God but they shared the same interest in music. My sister would say to anyone “That is your thing, not mines.” Her coworker now believes in Jesus. She didn’t have to say much to her about her faith. She was just there for her when she was going through a tough time and loved on her. God didn’t send His Son into the world to condemn the world but that the world through Him may be saved (John 3:17). It is a true sign that we are of God.
Agree to disagree and live in harmony!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for putting a new song in my heart. God, you have set before me life and death, blessing and cursing. I choose life. I repent for not walking in love and allowing political and religious beliefs to view people in the wrong way, getting into arguments and debates. I pray for all people so I can live a quiet and peaceable life. The greatest commandment is love. I live the life of God’s love. God, you are not willing that any should perish but all come to repentance. God, continue to work on my heart. Help me to see people the way you see them and view things through my spiritual eyes and not the natural eyes. I thank you for the victory in Jesus name. Amen!
