Some Celebrate July 4th. It’s Freedom Through Jesus I Endorse.

Some of us celebrate July 4th dealing with freedom. However, true freedom is accepting and living a life of freedom through faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

Jesus freed us from hell. When we accept Him as Lord of our lives and obey His word, we spend eternity in heaven with God. Revelation 1:17-18 Living Translation:17-18 When I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead; but he laid his right hand on me and said, “Don’t be afraid! Though I am the First and Last, the Living One who died, who is now alive forevermore, who has the keys of hell and death—don’t be afraid! John 3:16 Living Translation: 16 For God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son[c] so that anyone who believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Jesus freed us from sin. 1 Peter 2:24 Amplified Version:24 He personally carried our sins in His body on the [g]cross [willingly offering Himself on it, as on an altar of sacrifice], so that we might die to sin [becoming immune from the penalty and power of sin] and live for righteousness; for by His wounds you [who believe] have been [h]healed.

Jesus freed us from sickness, pain, sorrow, and grief. Isaiah 53:4-5 Easy Read Version: The fact is, it was our suffering he took on himself; he bore our pain. But we thought that God was punishing him, that God was beating him for something he did. But he was being punished for what we did. He was crushed because of our guilt. He took the punishment we deserved, and this brought us peace. We were healed because of his pain.

Jesus freed us from the curse: Galatians 3:13 Easy Read Version: 13 The law says we are under a curse for not always obeying it. But Christ took away that curse. He changed places with us and put himself under that curse. The Scriptures say, “Anyone who is hung on a tree[f] is under a curse.”[g] 14 Because of what Jesus Christ did, the blessing God promised to Abraham was given to all people. Christ died so that by believing in him we could have the Spirit that God promised.

Jesus freed us from guilt and condemnation. Romans 8:1 Amplified Version:Therefore there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for those who are in Christ Jesus [who believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Jesus freed us from the law and tradition: 2 Corinthians 3:5-6: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Mark 7:9-16:He said to them, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition. 10 For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 11 But you say, ‘If a man says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is Corban”—’ (that is, a gift to God), 12 then you no longer let him do anything for his father or his mother, 13 making the word of God of no effect through your tradition which you have handed down. And many such things you do.”14 When He had called all the multitude to Himself, He said to them, “Hear Me, everyone, and understand: 15 There is nothing that enters a man from outside which can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are the things that defile a man. 16 anyone has ears to hear, let him hear!

Jesus freed to love and serve one another. Galatians 5:13-15 Easy Read VersIon: 13 My brothers and sisters, God chose you to be free. But don’t use your freedom as an excuse to do what pleases your sinful selves. Instead, serve each other with love. 14 The whole law is made complete in this one command: “Love your neighbor[c] the same as you love yourself.”[d] 15 If you continue hurting each other and tearing each other apart, be careful, or you will completely destroy each other.

We walk in freedom by receiving and believing all that Jesus bore on the cross, and signs follow those that believe.

Some celebrate July 4th. It’s freedom through Jesus I Endorse!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for sending your Son Jesus for my freedom. I believe and receive everything that Jesus died for. I am no longer under the curse because I have confessed my sin and believe in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I walk in the freedom from, sin, the curse, sickness, pain and sorrow. Because you bore it for me, I do not have to bear it. I do not use my liberty that God gave me to live a selfish life of the flesh, but by love I serve others through the gift and purpose you have called me to. I repent of areas where I have failed and get back in Christ. In Jesus name! Amen!
