Jesus left us an example that we follow in His footsteps. Jesus endured the cross for the joy that was set before Him. Because of it, we have eternal life and are redeemed from the curse when we accept Him as Lord and Savior. Join the kingdom family (Read Romans 10:9-10 for prayer of salvation). 1 Corinthians 2:8 says, If the devil had known he would not have crucified Jesus. Now He is seated at the right of the Father and we now have redemption through Jesus. Satan wants us to give up by applying as much pressure as possible. The breakthrough is when the pressure is unbearable. God knows how much we can bear. We praise when the pressure is heavy. We pray and give thanks to God for the victory. We have others to stand in the gap for us when we feel like giving up. We win the race of life looking to Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith. John 16:33: 33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Because Jesus overcame, we can too, through trusting and depending on Him.
Job 1:6-12 Amplified Version: 6 Now there was a day when the sons of God (angels) came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan (adversary, accuser) also came among them. 7 The Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Then Satan answered the Lord, “From roaming around on the earth and from walking around on it.” 8 The Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered and reflected on My servant Job? For there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, one who fears God [with reverence] and abstains from and turns away from evil [because he honors God].” 9 Then Satan answered the Lord, “Does Job fear God for nothing? 10 Have You not put a hedge [of protection] around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands [and conferred prosperity and happiness upon him], and his possessions have increased in the land. 11 But put forth Your hand now and touch (destroy) all that he has, and he will surely curse You to Your face.” 12 Then the Lord said to Satan, “Behold, all that Job has is in your power, only do not put your hand on the man himself.” 23 So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.
The devil targets us especially when we are living upright to see if we will give up and turn our backs on God. Job endured sickness, children dying, his wife leaving him, and financial issues. However, God restored Job with more than what he had before: with a wife, more children than he ever had, more wealth, and he was in health. His friends witnessed it and came back. Job endured to the end and received more than what was taken from Him. The devil can use people to try to put a curse on you. Balak sent Balaam to curse the descendants of Jacob in Numbers 23. However, when he tried to curse them, only blessing came out of his mouth. Balaam said “How can I curse what God has blessed?” You can’t curse the people of God; it will only backfire on the people who are plotting evil against them.
Be determined like Job saying “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” Be determined like the three Hebrew boys in Daniel 3 that when the heat is turned up in your situation say: “The God that I serve he will deliver me.” Be like our spiritual Father Abraham in Romans 4. He did not waver in his faith. He gave glory to God and he was fully persuaded God would do what He said. Abraham called things that were not as though they were and breathed life into a hopeless situation. Believers, Christ is in us the hope of glory. Problems can also come due to something we did. Repent, ask God for mercy, and do not go back into the same situation because it can get worse. John 5:14: Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”
Had the devil known, he would have left you alone!
Prayer: Thank you Jesus because you overcame, I can overcome. I am redeemed from the curse and no one can curse what God has blessed. The trials that I have are not compared to the glory that will be revealed. I trust you to be my Shepherd in every stage of my life. In Jesus name! Amen.
