To Overcome The Challenge You Are Facing, Walk in Patience

ECCLESIASTES 9:11: THE RACE IS NOT GIVEN TO THE SWIFT OR TO THE STRONG, BUT TO THOSE WHO ENDURE TO THE END

The phrase came to me as God led me to listen to a message dealing with faith. Most of us, when we start something, we are so excited. However, we get frustrated, give up, or become anxious when challenges come. Love is patient, it endures, and faith works by love. True patience is keeping the same attitude as when we first begin. The race is not given to the swift or the strong, but to those who endure to the end (Ecclesiastes 9:11). God is eternal . Revelation 22:13 says: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last  One day is like a thousand years to the Lord (2 Peter 3:8). Keep the same attitude no matter how long it takes. We can slow the process even longer when we do not operate with patience. The movie “Remember The Goal” has a second movie I was led to:  “The Perfect Race”. Both are compelling movies dealing with the life of a believer. Webster’s dictionary meaning of patience is steadfast despite opposition, difficulty, or adversity. Another meaning for patience is the capacity to accept or tolerate delay, trouble, or suffering without getting angry or upset. There are keys to remaining in patience to receive.

Prayer with thanksgiving is a way to walk in patience. Philippians 4:6-7: 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; 7 and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. If you feel anxious, frustrated, angry, or unhappy, begin putting God back in remembrance of His word and start thanking Him for the victory in your situation.

We can write the date of our request and put it before us on a board with pictures; when we feel like giving up, we can look at it as a reminder. Mark 11:24 says whatever we ask according to the word of God. When we pray, we believe that we received it and then we have it. God, I thank you. I received my healing when I prayed on _______ and put the date. You can reference the blog Write The Date; It Gives Strength During The Wait! I have looked back on the prayer requests I wrote down with the date, and some have already manifested.

We can encourage and celebrate with others . Job prayed for his friends when he was going through and got his deliverance. We can rejoice with others who have received what they prayed for. Love is not envious of others or pouting because we feel we deserve it more. When we rejoice with others, it releases the anointing for us to receive.

God led me to Romans 5 concerning faith one morning. Romans 5:1-5 Living Translation: So now, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith in his promises, we can have real peace with him because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. 2 For because of our faith, he has brought us into this place of highest privilege where we now stand, and we confidently and joyfully look forward to actually becoming all that God has had in mind for us to be.3 We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to be patient. 4 And patience develop strength of character and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally, our hope and faith are strong and steady. 5 Then, when that happens, we can hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Pastor Gaines said God is more concerned about us being Christ-like than our comfort; trials strengthen our faith. God wants to develop character in us. The higher we go in God, “new level, new devil.”

We can also look back on challenges we faced in the past that God brought us through to help with patience. David said in 1 Samuel 17:34-37: 34, But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it, and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it, and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”. 1 Samuel 4:46: 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel.

We can also have other believers stand in the gap for us when we are weak and want to give up. Exodus 17:12: 12 Moses’ arms finally became too tired to hold up the rod any longer, so Aaron and Hur rolled a stone for him to sit on, and they stood on each side, holding up his hands until sunset. 13. As a result, Joshua and his troops crushed the army of Amalek, putting them to the sword.

Faith comes by hearing to have the confidence to act. The Holy Spirit will lead you to the anointed person to listen to in order to build up your faith. Read and meditate on the word diligently; obey the word of God. When God gives us specific instructions, do it. Do what we know to do in the natural. After doing all we can, keep standing in faith through prayer, thanksgiving, and praise. Where there is a need, plant a seed. The seed begins with the word of God, and He will lead you through the Holy Spirit.

To overcome the challenge you are facing, walk in patience!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being patient with me even when I was a sinner. Thank you for loving me enough to send your Son Jesus to die for my sins. I repent for allowing my emotions to dominate me. God, I thank you for leading me by your word and the Holy Spirit inside me. I endure to the end and receive the promise. Through faith and patience, I inherit the promise. In Jesus’ name! Amen,
