Webster’s Meaning of Free: 1. Enjoying personal freedom: not subject to the control or domination of another. 2. Capable of making a choice. 3. Relieved from or lacking something and especially something unpleasant or burdensome. God gives us a choice to live free. God tells us how to be free. If you are not saved, please give your life to Jesus Christ. It is the only way to live truly free (Read Romans 10:9-10 for salvation).
One way to live free is by being truthful. It is easy to cover things up, disguise them, or even lie to ourselves. However, this only puts us in bondage. Proverbs 28:13: One who conceals his wrongdoings will not prosper, But one who confesses and abandons them will find compassion/mercy. If it is lying to yourself, admit it to God and allow God to transform you through His word. If it is someone else, be honest. We can not control how anyone reacts, but as long as we do our part, we can be free and leave the rest up to God.
Another way to live free is by confronting things that hurt us. James 5:16: Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. Ephesians 4:15:15 Instead of speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, Christ.
We can live free by living a life of love. Galatians 5:13-15 Message Version: 13-15 It is evident that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure you don’t use this freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want and destroy your freedom. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows. Everything we know about God’s Word is summarized in a single sentence: Love others as you love yourself. That’s an act of true freedom. If you bite and ravage each other, watch out—in no time will you annihilate each other, and where will your precious freedom be then?

We can live in freedom by depending on God and not on people. We are not perfect, which means people can fail us. But God never fails us. Jeremiah 17:6-7: This is what the LORD says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD. 6 He will be like a bush in the wastelands; he will not see prosperity when it comes. He will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.7 “But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him.
Finally, living in the present and not dwelling in the past. Philippians 3:12-14 New Living Translation:12 I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. 13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

Prayer: God, I thank you for true freedom through Jesus Christ. I walk in love, truth, no weights, and living in the present so I can be free. I repent for my sins and move forward in you. God, you have given me life or death, blessing or cursing. I choose life. I live in the truth of God’s word. No more chains; I am free. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
