Gratitude: The state of thankfulness. Conscious of the benefit received.
Altitude: position at a height; a high level (as of quality or feeling)
God waking us up is another day to live out God’s purpose for us. Let us know the benefits of a new day, live with a purpose, and soar high like an eagle in life’s journey.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV: 16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Romans 5:2-5 Amplified Version: 2 Through Him we also have access by faith into this [remarkable state of] grace in which we [firmly, safely and securely] stand. Let us rejoice in our hope and the confident assurance of [experiencing and enjoying] the glory of [our great] God [the manifestation of His excellence and power]. 3 And not only this but [with joy] let us exult in our sufferings and rejoice in our hardships, knowing that difficulty (distress, pressure, trouble) produces patient endurance; 4 and perseverance, proven character (spiritual maturity); and proven character, hope and confident assurance [of eternal salvation]. 5 Such hope [in God’s promises] never disappoints us because God’s love has been abundantly poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
I just watched a movie, which is a Christmas classic, “It’s A Wonderful Life.” George Bailey carried on his father’s business dealing with money/bank. He sacrificed going to college and traveling the world to help the people in his town. He had the heart to help people; however, he was $8,000 in debt from the business and wanted to end his life. People were praying for George Bailey. He cried out for help from God. Finally, an angel Clarence came to help him. George said he wished he was never born. The angel, Clarence. showed George what his life would be like if he were not born. George realized he had a wonderful life. In the end, the town came together to pay off his debt.
We will have trials in our lives that can cause us to be ungrateful. We will stay in the same state as the Israelites with Moses in the book of Numbers because they were disobedient and complained. They remained in that state for 40 years. Be like Job, give glory to God, pray for others who are going through, and say, “Though He slay me yet will I trust Him.” Our breakthrough is around the corner when we are at the end of our rope, just like George Bailey was in the movie. Begin to give God thanks for where you are and thank Him for what you are believing Him for. Click the link from the earlier blog: Enjoy Where You Are, And You Will Go Far.
Your Gratitude Determines Your Altitude!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your mercies are new every morning. Your will for me is to give thanks in every situation. I trust you even when I can’t see a way out. Lord, I praise you for being my everything. Because Jesus lives, I can face tomorrow. Because Jesus lives. all fear is gone. Because I know who holds my future. Life is worth living just because He lives. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
