God gave me the phrase yesterday as my sister and I were talking. Complaining about problems in our world: race, schools, workplace, homes, marriages, children, churches, and the government will not resolve the issue. Believers are created to bring the light wherever we set our feet. God has given us the keys to living life in hopeless situations. Christ is the hope of glory; we don’t need to look further but what is within us.
For solutions, seek God’s guidance, fast, stand in the gap/intercede for others, and listen to prophets/teachers that give the word in line with the word of God. David, Esther, Moses, and Jehoshaphat are examples in the bible concerning turning problems into solutions.
In 1 Samuel 30, when David and his men returned, their wives, families, and possessions were taken from them. David and the men cried loud until they were weak and couldn’t cry. After weeping, David strengthened himself in God and inquired of Lord. David asked God “Should I pursue them?” God said to pursue, and you shall recover all. So David and his men pursued them and recovered all; they ate and danced from the goods they received.
Esther had to save her Jewish people from being killed because of a decree that went out by the King due to the evil influence of Haman. She proclaimed a three-day fast. Finally, she approached the King and delivered her people. Read the book of Esther.
Exodus 32:9-14 Easy Read Version: 9 The Lord said to Moses, “I have seen these people, and I know that they are very stubborn. They will always turn against me. 10 So now let me destroy them in anger. Then I will make a great nation from you.” 11 But Moses begged the Lord his God, “Lord, don’t let your anger destroy your people. You brought them out of Egypt with your great power and strength. 12 But if you destroy your people, the Egyptians will say, ‘God planned to do bad things to his people. That is why he led them out of Egypt. He wanted to kill them in the mountains. He wanted to wipe them off the earth.’ So don’t be angry with your people. Please change your mind! Don’t destroy them. 13 Remember Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. These men served you, and you used your name to make a promise to them. You said, ‘I will make your people as many as the stars in the sky. I will give your people all this land as I promised. This land will be theirs forever.'” 14 So the Lord felt sorry for the people. He did not do what he said he might do—he did not destroy them.
Jehoshaphat, when going into battle, received a word from God after fasting and praying. 2 Chronicles 20:20 Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.” 21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who should sing to the Lord, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying: “Praise the Lord, For His mercy endures forever.”
Where there is pollution, there is a solution.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me the word of God as a guide for solving everyday challenges. I repent for complaining about problems in my life. You created me to be the light in the darkness. You left the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me into all truth. Christ is in me, the hope of glory. I seek you, God, when problems come. I intercede for others. I fast and receive the word of the prophets in line with God’s word to receive solutions to problems. You always cause me to triumph through you, God. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
