Thursday, it rained after being without rain for an extended period. Judy Jacobs’s song “Rain Dance” came into my spirit while driving. So I turned the music on at home and danced. I was like Elijah, “I hear the sound of abundance of rain” in the spirit realm. A lot of us may be going through a dry season. So get ready for the rain and prepare the field for the shower!
Prayer is the key to receiving the rain. The word of God says we should always pray and not faint or give up {Luke 18:1).
1 Kings:8:41-42 Living Translation: 41 Then Elijah said to Ahab, “Go get something to eat and drink, for I hear a mighty rainstorm coming!” 42 So Ahab went to eat and drink. But Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel and bowed low to the ground and prayed with his face between his knees.
We should expect that what we prayed for is done according to God’s will, which is God’s word.
1 Kings 18:43: 43 Then he said to his servant, “Go and look out toward the sea.”
Hold onto your faith, for God is faithful. Act like it is already done; be on the lookout for it. The race is not given to the swift or the strong, but those who endures to the end will receive the promise (Ecclesiastes 9:11)
1 Kings 18:43-46: The servant looked, returned to Elijah, and said, “I didn’t see anything. Seven times Elijah told him to go and look. 44 Finally, his servant told him the seventh time, “I saw a little cloud about the size of a man’s hand rising from the sea.” Then Elijah shouted, “Hurry to Ahab and tell him, ‘Climb into your chariot and go back home. If you don’t hurry, the rain will stop you!'” 45 And soon the sky was black with clouds. A heavy wind brought a terrific rainstorm, and Ahab left quickly for Jezreel. 46 Then, the Lord gave exceptional strength to Elijah. He tucked his cloak into his belt and ran ahead of Ahab’s chariot to the entrance of Jezreel.
Do not doubt. God sends the rain during the drought!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your faithfulness. I wait in expectancy for what you promised in your word. I repent for giving up during the wait. I trust your timing; I pray, give thanks, endure until the end, and receive the promise. It is done in Jesus’ name! Amen.
