Once God Starts To Bless, Don’t Slip Back In Your Old Mess!

The blog phrase came to my sister as we were talking about how we can forget about God after God gives us grace and blesses us. We have all been guilty of it. My sister was telling me how God wants to do more for us. However, we become comfortable and camp out where we are. We spend time with God, but it is a bare minimum. God wants to take us from faith to faith, glory to glory. God created us as believers in Jesus to glorify Him and take dominion over the earth for His purpose. God wants to get His people off the world’s system and depend totally on Him. God wants His people to take dominion wherever we go. We are crying out for change; however, with that passion and anger, God can use us in that area to make a difference, with His guidance.

Deuteronomy 8:11-19: 11 Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees that I am giving you this day. 12 Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down, 13 and when your herds and flocks grow large and your silver and gold increase and all you have is multiplied, 14 then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. 15 He led you through the vast and dreadful wilderness, that thirsty and waterless land, with its venomous snakes and scorpions. He brought you water out of hard rock. 16 He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. 17 You may say to yourself, “My power and the strength of my hands have produced this wealth for me.” 18 But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.19 If you ever forget the Lord your God and follow other gods and worship and bow down to them, I testify against you today that you will surely be destroyed. 20 Like the nations the Lord destroyed before you, so you will be destroyed for not obeying the Lord your God.God wants us to remember Him when He delivers us for.

Solomon is an example in the bible of not remembering God. He started out asking God for wisdom to rule the people and was humble. God gave him wisdom along with wealth. He got the wealth and wisdom and did everything his heart desired. Solomon had a lot of wives and mistresses. He turned his heart from God. At the end of his life, Solomon lived in regret. Solomon said all that he had was useless and vanity. Solomon said the best thing to do is to honor God, enjoy the fruits of your labor, and enjoy the people you love, which we can not do without God.

Job was the opposite of Solomon. He was an upright, wealthy man. He honored God when he had the wealth and when he lost everything. God gave Job double for his trouble. While on a high, he served God, and at his lowest, he served God. During a difficult situation, Job said, “Though He slays me, yet will I trust him.” The devil catches us unaware to make us turn away from God. In the morning, the devil comes at you, and night while you are sleeping. That is why Joshua 1 says to meditate on the word day and night to be strong. We must study our opponent, the devil, and stay ready. We can lose focus when things are great and when things are challenging.

When God starts to bless, don’t slip back into your old mess!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for brand new mercies. God, I repent for not being diligent in the things of God and forgetting about you. God I serve you at my highest and lowest moments because you are good and deserve all my devotion. Thank you for saving me from death and hell. I do not take my salvation and your love for granted. I testify about your goodness to draw people to you. I continue in your word and go from faith to faith, glory to glory. I give you the honor and praise in Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. I absolutely love love love today/this week’s message. I’ve been praising and declaring God’s word over and over in my life because the enemy has surely been coming in like a flood against me and the word and promises God has spoken over my children and me. There’s no way I’d choose to mess up when God is blessing up (not in my right mind) lol.

Love you and pray many blessings over you and Shunda! This was an in time word 🙌🏽
