The Devil Lays In Wait. Do Not Take The Bait!

It is good to know your enemy so you can be ready. Most athletes study their opponents so they can win. I have seen during a game where the team is down and comes back and wins. But, I have also noticed that when a team is up, and they celebrate too soon, the other team throws them off, losing the game. That is how the enemy works. He comes at you on a high and your lowest to catch you off guard.

1 Peter 5:8 NIV Version: 8 Be clear-minded and alert. Your opponent, the Devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.

We have to stay on guard when we are on a high and at our lowest by spending time with God. Living in the word of God is the only way to stay spiritually aware and robust.

Ephesians 2:2 describes the Devil as the prince of the power of the air. The radio, television, internet, and social media operate through airwaves. The enemy uses that to manipulate and control how we behave. Stay rooted in the word of God and stay on the love walk because faith works by love. 1 Corinthians 14:33 says 33 For God is not the author of confusion, but peace, as in all churches of the saints. We should use social media to glorify God with God’s gifts and purpose for our lives.

Revelation 12:10 says the Devil is the accuser of the brethren/humanity. There is a saying when you are pointing the finger at someone else; two are pointing back at you. We all have issues. The first person we should look at is ourselves. The Devil loves when we argue and point fingers at each other. It is a no-win situation. No one is good but God (Mark 10:18)James 2:10: For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. A mature person looks at themselves. I Corinthians 11:31 says judge yourself so you won’t be judged. We have to give an account to God at the day of judgment for ourselves, not anyone else.

The Devil also wants you to condemn yourself. The Devil will bring a thought, a person, or a thing to distract you, and when you fall short, you beat yourself up. As my Aunt Mary would say, “confess and get up out of that mess!”

John 10:10: 10 The thief (the Devil) comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full. Murders, robbing/stealing, and destruction are of the Devil. Anything robbing you of your joy, peace, and prosperity is of the Devil. Anything killing your spirit and dragging you down is of the Devil. Destruction and chaos in your life are of the Devil.

John 8:44 says that the Devil is the Father of all lies. Anything that is against the word of God is a lie. Any deception is of the Devil. Romans 3:4 says let God’s word be accurate. Every person is a liarJohn 14:6 says I am the way The Truth and the Life! God’s word is the final truth above any person or thing. If it doesn’t line up with the word of God, it is deception.

Now that we know our enemy, we know how to fight and win with the help of God. Ephesians 6:12: 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

We can do like Jesus when the Devil comes at us; we must submit to God, resist the Devil, and then He will flee by saying, “it is written.” The word is powerful, quick, and sharper than any two-edged sword. Speak the word and cut through demonic forces. Read Ephesians 6:11-18 concerning the armor of God.

I am thankful for the people in my life who give me Godly wisdom, correct me, and remind me to walk in love and stay rooted and grounded in the word of God. Psalm 1:1 says blessed is the \You already know that Grammarly will check and correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation issues (look at all these red It is good to know your enemy so you can be ready. The Devil lays in wait. Do not take the bait!

Prayer: God, thank you for being The Truth. God, I stay spiritually alert by meditating and reading your word in and out of season. God, I recognize the Devil’s schemes to lie, kill, destroy my life, and condemn me to hell. Thank God because I accept you as Lord in my life, I can repent, and I am made righteous through faith, not under condemnation. I use the media for your glory and purpose in my life. I repent for acting like the devil finger pointing. I judge myself first. God help me in areas where I have challenges. I thank you. I have the victory through you. In Jesus’ name!
