Definition of press: to apply pressure, push, to take by authority; to insist on or request urgently.
I heard a pastor say what we put a demand on will manifest. The supply stops when the demand stops, just like in the retail business. The only way to see the manifestation is by placing a demand on the word of God. The rest comes in you speaking, meditating, and listening to the word of God consistently so it can take root in your heart. Just like we eat food at least three times a day, we should take in our spiritual food (the word of God) daily.
Matthew 4:4: But He answered and said, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.'”
We need natural food, but we also need spiritual food because we are spirits housed in a body. We can’t make it without the word of God. We will die spiritually, and it can hurt our bodies naturally.
After we labored in the word, when things come at us, or negative thoughts come to our minds, we are not moved; we enter the rest.
Hebrews 4:11 King James Version: Let us labor, therefore, to enter into that rest, lest any man falls after the same example of unbelief.
We will stop being anxious, fearful, and overthinking when resting in God’s finished work. When the storm comes, you can sleep as Jesus did on the boat during the storm. (Matthew 8:23-27) God gives his beloved sweet sleep (Proverbs 3:24). Be like Peter in Acts 12. He was sleeping in prison while the church stayed fervently in prayer. Daniel was asleep surrounded by lions in Daniel 6.
In the word, press! Enter into the rest!
Prayer: Lord, I praise you for your finished work. I labor in the word to rest in knowing it is done. Because your word says it, I believe it, and that settles it. I demand your word until it takes root in my heart, removing fear and doubt. Overthinking, anxiousness, strongholds, addictions, and unbelief. I do not live by natural food alone but by every word that comes from God. I repent for not being diligent in reading your word. I thank you in the midst of the storm and trials like Jesus, Peter, and Daniel. I can sleep because my heart is fixed, trusting in you to carry me through. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Beautiful and so powerful
