One morning, I read John 10, which inspired this blog.
John 10:27 says my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.
For anyone that has accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, God is our Shepherd, and we are His sheep. As believers, we should follow His voice. How can we follow the voice of God? Everything begins with the word of God.
John 1:1 says, in the beginning, was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God.
Once we meditate on the word of God, believe in our hearts, and follow it, then the word of God becomes a reality.
John 1:14 says the word became flesh and dwelt among us.
Anything that is not aligned with the word of God and the character of God should be strange to us as believers.
John 10:9: A stranger’s voice they will not follow. But will flee from him, for they know not the voice of strangers.
When the voice of fear/doubt comes to us, we should treat it as a stranger by saying, 2 Timothy 1:7, God has not given the spirit of fear but power, love, and a sound mind. The word of God is the voice of God. God also gives us a direct message through His word as we keep hearing it, meditating on it, and speaking it.
John 10:10 says the thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but I go that they my have life and have it more abundantly.
The enemy will come in to steal from you your health, your life, your finances, and your joy. We keep the devil from coming in by submitting to the word of God; then, we can resist the devil. And he flees from us (James 4:7). It is a lifestyle, daily staying with the word of God as believers. There is no other way. Without God, we can do nothing (John 15:15).
Make a choice to follow God’s voice!
Prayer: Thank you, God, for being the living word. I repent for not following the voice of your written word and letting a stranger lead me astray, robbing me of my peace, joy, and abundant life. I choose to listen and follow your voice only; everything manifests in the natural realm because it is already done. I submit to God, resist the devil, and the devil flees from me. I am consistent with your word because you reward those that diligently seek you. I have the victory! In Jesus’ name! Amen.
