Through Stormy Weather, God’s Mercy Endures Forever!

God led me to Psalm 118, which inspired the blog’s title. The previous blog dealt with us as believers taking authority. We are made in the image and likeness of God. We call things that be not as though they were, like our father in the faith Abraham. No matter how dark the situation, we speak the word. We all go through storms; only God can carry us through.

We should live a life of being thankful for each day we are here. Psalm 118 :1 NIV: Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

In challenging times, we can cry to God, and he hears us. Psalm 118:5 New Living Translation:5 In my distress, I prayed to the Lord, who answered me and set me free.

God is with us. Trust in His mercy and love. Psalm 118:6-9 NIV: 6 The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me 7 The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I look in triumph at my enemies. 8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than trust humans.9 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.

God is our help, protection, and strength. Psalm 118:13-14 NIV: 13 I was pushed back and about to fall, but the Lord helped me.14 The Lord is my strength and my defense. He has become my salvation.

We can praise God because He gives us victory. Psalm 118: 15-16: 15 Shouts of joy and victory

resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things 16 The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!”

God keeps us on earth to fulfill the purpose He has for us. Psalm 118:17 NIV: 17 I will not die but live,

and will proclaim what the Lord has done.

God answers us. Psalm 118:21 Living Translation: 21 I thank you for answering my prayer

 and giving me victory!

God restores us, and we will stand in awe of His goodness. Psalm118:22-2422 The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone;23 the Lord has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.

24 The Lord has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

We are blessed when we do things for God’s glory. Psalm: 118:26-27 NIV: 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. From the house of the Lord, we bless you.27 The Lord is God

and has made his light shine on us.

Accept Him now if you don’t know God and are not saved! Our eternity is important. All you must do is repent of your sins, believe in your heart that Jesus lived, died, and rose from the dead, accept Him as Lord and Savior (Romans10:9-10), and start the journey of a relationship with God. It is never too late. If you are alive, there is hope! You don’t have to fear death because those that are in the family of God (even though they pass in this life), cross over to eternity with God. John 11:25 New Living TranslationJesus told her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.

I loved when Joel Osteen spoke about his father’s passing. In his last breath, though he didn’t stay in this life but went over to the other side, he went out in faith, saying, “The Lord is good, and His mercy endures forever!” What a way to go.

Through stormy weather, God’s mercy endures forever!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for your unfailing love. I can make it through any storm because of your mercy and great love. I repent for not putting my complete trust in you. God, you are good, and your mercy endures forever. I thank you, God, that you are with me. God, you restore me. I look triumphantly and say it is the Lord’s doing, marvelous! I don’t fear what can happen to me. I live in faith and cross to the other side in faith. Hallelujah! In Jesus’ name! Amen!
