We all want peace, love, health, and provision. And joy. It is easy to speak about the situation instead of saying what you want it to be. However, to receive good things in life, we can’t go by how it looks or feel. We trust and have faith in God to see us through any situation, especially as believers.
Romans 1:17 says, The lives by faith.
Romans 8:8 says Those that are in the flesh can not please God.
Hebrews 11:6 says, Without faith, it is impossible to please God.
Hebrews 10:38 says, But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.
God is not pleased when we go by how we feel. He wants us to live by faith so we can have every good thing God has already promised us.
It starts with our words. God made the earth with His words. It was dark, but God said let there be light. We are made in His image and likeness. We can transform our situations with our words.
Proverbs 18:21 Amplified Version: Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it and indulge it will eat its fruit and bear the consequences of their words.
Ephesians 4:29 King James Version: 29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearer.
Matthew 12:37 New King James Version: 37 For by your words you will be justified, and you will be condemned.” (It stuck with me when a pastor explained that whatever you say, you will come under the judgment of what you said)
Now that we know to speak what we want, we also need to watch what we look at and listen to. If you have been hurt and you are listening to/ looking at things that feed the hurt, when the pressure comes, corrupt words will come out.
Proverbs 4:23 Message Version: Keep vigilant watch over your heart; that’s where life starts. Don’t talk out of both sides of your mouth; avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip. Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions. Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you. Look neither right nor left; leave evil in the dust.
Let us look, listen, and speak about things we want. God’s word is true. We walk by faith, not sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), and it becomes a reality.
For it to become real, don’t go by what you feel!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for giving me your spirit where I can speak what I want to have no matter how dark the situation is. I repent for speaking, looking, and listening to things contrary to what I want in my life. I guard my heart, for that is where things come and breathe life, good or bad. I do not let anything corrupt come out of my mouth. No matter how I feel, I speak the word of God and what I want to have. I surround myself with people and things that uplift me. God, I am strong in you in your power because I can’t do it in my strength, so I lean on you. I please you, God, by walking by faith and not in my emotions to receive everything you promised me as a believer. I give you the praise and honor in Jesus’ name! Amen!
