When the Devil Throws You For A Loop, Take It to the Hoop!

My coworker, Temacha, inspired this blog. I gave her some phrases God gave me for the blog, which encouraged her. Temacha applied the words from the blog when encountering challenging situations. In particular, one term from my previous blog: “The best support is God in your court.” God gave her a revelation from that phrase: “Take it to the hoop.” No matter what the situation is, God is cheering you on. It doesn’t matter if you have to go to the 4th quarter or overtime; give it all you got. We started praising God together for how powerful God is. While praising God with her, the catchphrase came to me for the blog.

We all have challenging situations that come at us one after the other to make us complain and be miserable, causing fear and doubt. However, God already won the battle for us by sending His Son Jesus. All we have to do is believe, receive, act, and the manifestation comes.

Like in a basketball game, the coach gives the team strategies to win and defeat their opponent. So God is our coach, and he gave us strategies through the word of God to defeat satan.

My coworker told me she put the phrases from the blog in front of her so she could see them. She then spoke the phrases. Finally, she acted out Proverbs 4:21, Joshua 1:8, and Proverbs 3:3.

Proverbs 4:20-22 King James Version: 20 attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.

Joshua 1:8 8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have success.

Proverbs 3:1-4 NIV My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart,2 for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.3 Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.4 Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Know your enemy/ opponent. Our enemy is the devil. Satan is a thief!

John 10:10 says 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

When situations come to try and steal your joy, destroy, and kill you, resist it.

James 4:7 says Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Throw the devil a curve ball by beginning to praise God during challenges. It confuses the devil.

Psalm 68:1 says leGod arise, and the enemies are scattered.

Like Jehoshaphat in 2 Chronicles 20, begin to praise God by saying, “The Lord is good, and his mercy endures forever.”

Take it to the hoop when the devil throws you for a loop!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for sending your son Jesus to win the battle for me. I repent for letting the devil steal from me. I take authority through the word of God. I don’t let the word of God depart from my eyes or my mouth. I keep it in my heart. Faithfulness to God’s word and walking in love gives me favor. I am not overcome by evil, but I overcome evil with good. I praise God during every battle because God is good, and His mercy endures forever! I give you the praise and the glory in Jesus’ name! Amen.
