This phrase came to me not knowing what freedom charter means.
The Freedom Charter: A document setting out guidelines for human rights and the duties of the state in a democratic South Africa; for many years, the political manifesto of the African National Congress, the Charter,
God gave us all free will and a choice. However, to be completely free, we must follow the guidelines of the word of God.
Galatians 5:13 Common English Version: You were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only don’t let this freedom be an opportunity to indulge your selfish impulses, but serve each other through love.
Deuteronomy !3:19 Easy Read Version 19 “Today I am giving you a choice of two ways. And I ask heaven and earth to be witnesses of your choice. You can choose life or death. The first choice will bring a blessing. The other choice will bring a curse. So choose life! Then you and your children/descendants will live.
Our actions have consequences. Just because we are free to do whatever pleases us doesn’t mean we should do it. It can end in actual death as well as spiritual death. Some of us are dead people walking because of our bad choices. The only thing we should die out of is our sinful nature which leads to destruction. As believers, let us choose life which is the path of Jesus.
Thank God, Jesus has made us accessible, Who the Son sets free is free indeed!
In honor of Juneteenth and Father’s Day, God gave me a declaration:
The Freedom Charter Declaration
I, _____ declare there is now no condemnation [no guilty verdict, no punishment] for I am in Christ Jesus [I believe in Him as personal Lord and Savior]. For the law of the Spirit of life [which is] in Christ Jesus [the law of our new being] has set me free from the law of sin and of death. I am redeemed from the curse through Jesus’ blood. I have freedom now because Christ made me free. So, I stand firm in that freedom. I do not go back into slavery again. I stay where the Spirit of the Lord is because there is freedom. I know the truth of God’s word, and the truth sets me free. I am called to be free. However, I do not use freedom for evil and selfish desires; by love, I serve others. Thank God I am free. Because the Son sets me free, I am free indeed!
Freedom charter through the Father!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for making me free. Thank you for giving me the freedom to choose. I repent for choosing things that bring death. Today I choose life so my descendants and I can live. I refuse to return to slavery and bondage because you have redeemed me from the curse through Jesus’ blood. Thank God I am free. Because the Son sets me free, I am truly free! I receive my freedom in Jesus’ name! Amen.
