Don’t be Rude. Get A New Attitude!

The title was inspired by my dad two weeks ago after spending time with God,
We all have fallen short at times with our attitude. Even
though we are believers in Christ our old nature can rise. We as believers can
put our old flesh under with the word of God and asking God to help us, It is
almost like going to the cross spiritually because sometimes it is painful and
take everything in us to walk in love. Paul said in 1 Corinthians 15:31 that he
died daily to his evil and sin nature. It is good to read 1 Corinthians 13
daily on love to remind and examine ourselves.

My dad also mentioned that we block our blessing with things in our hearts
that are not pleasing to God. We can be giving offerings and tithes to certain
ministries and giving to organizations, but if our heart is not right it will
not work. My dad told me about Cain and Abel in Genesis 4. God accepted Abel’s
offering but did not accept Cain’s offering because of what was in his heart.
Cain became angry and murdered his own brother.

Some of you are saying I would not murder my own sibling or my sisters and
brothers in Christ. 1 John 3 Voice Version: 11 The
central truth—the one you have heard since the beginning of your faith—is
that we must love one another. 12 Please do not act like
Cain, who was of the evil one. He brutally murdered his own
brother. Why would he do something so despicable? Because his life was
devoted to evil and selfishness, and his brother chose to do what is
right.13 Brothers and sisters, don’t be shocked if
the corrupt world despises you. 14 We know that
we have crossed over from death to real life because we are devoted to true
love for our brothers and sisters. Anyone who does not love lives among
corpses.
Do you ever wonder if you are
just silently sleeping through days, months, and years? There is one indicator
of real life: true love for others.
15 Everyone
who hates other members of God’s family is a murderer. Does a murderer possess
the beautiful life that never ends? No. 16 We
know what true love looks like because of Jesus. He gave His life for us, and
He calls us to give our lives for our brothers and sisters.

We cannot love God and hate someone because God is love. We can despise or hate
a person way but not the person. As believers we should pray for those who
slanders and does evil towards us (Matthew 5:44) which keeps hatred out of our hearts.

Ephesians 4: 31-32 Amplified Version says: 31 Let all
bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor [perpetual animosity, resentment,
strife, fault-finding] and slander be put away from you, along with every kind
of malice [all spitefulness, verbal abuse, malevolence]. 32 Be
kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate,
understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in
Christ also forgave you.

Don’t be rude! Get a new attitude!

Prayer: Lord thank you for loving me in my worst state and forgiving me
of all the wrong I have done recently and in the past. God I am made in your
image and likeness. I ask you to search my heart of any evil and lead me to the
way of everlasting, The heart can be wicked but God you know and searches my heart.
God put a check in my spirit when my motives are wrong. Anything that is
blocking your flow and the blessing you reveal it to me. I continue to remind
myself of God’s love by meditating and showing love in action. I humble myself
before you because you resist the proud but gives grace to the humble. God, I
need your grace every day. I am transformed by renewing my mind to your word. I
thank you for transformation, In Jesus name! Amen
.

  1. Yes Lord… Put a check on my heart and spirit and remind and convict me of any wrong motive that creeps into my heart.

    What an awesome prayer Sharon!
    I needed this prayer!
    Love you so much

  2. Me too. We all fall short. It really makes me examine myself and repent. My dad said it made him examine himself too. Thank God when we repent and start on th right track there is no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus! Thank God for His mercy.
