It’s the Stage, Not the Age!

God used my Aunt Mary for the blog title listening to T.D. Jakes’ teaching.Webster’s meaning: Stage-a period or step in a processactivity, or development

You have some people who are young but are developed more in certain areas than older people. But, my grandmother Lucile said, “there is nothing worse than an old fool.”

In Genesis Chapters 37-45, Joseph started at 17 on his journey and was promoted to second in command by the age of 30 through his gift of interpreting dreams. He operated through love when his family and everyone was doing evil towards him, and God promoted him.

Samuel anointed David, the youngest out of his brothers, as king. 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV: 7 But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The good news is that it is never too late if you are at a stage in life where you are not developed in.

Joshua and Caleb went into the promised land at the age of 85. Moses was 80 when he led the Israelites out of Egypt.

You are never too young to be used by God, and you are never too old for God to use you in a mighty way. God can restore the years that have been taken away from you. (Joel 2:25)

The man at the pool of Bethesda in John Chapter 5 had been at that stage for 38 years, making excuses. Finally, Jesus asked the man at the pool, “Do you want to be healed?” The man said yes, and Jesus told him to take his bed and walk. My Aunt Mary would say to me when I would procrastinate or make excuses, “All you have to do is a step.” Specific prices I paid spiritually were from making excuses. I love the song by Tramaine Hawkins, “The Potter’s House.” I love the verse, “You don’t have to stay in the state that you’re in/ the potter wants to put you back together again/ Joy in the potter’s house/Peace in the potter’s house Love in the potter’s house/There is salvation in the potter’s house/There is healing in the potter’s house/There is deliverance in the potter’s house/ You will find everything you need in the potter’s house.

It is a person’s stage, not the age!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me and being patient. I repent for making excuses and remaining in my terrible stage. I take up my bed and walk into the blessing God has already provided for me. Man looks on outward. I thank you, God, you look on my heart. God, I ask you to search my heart for any evil in me and lead me in an everlasting wayYour word says those with a pure heart receive a blessing from you. I let you, Lord do surgery on my heart and restore the years in my life. I praise you in advance in Jesus’ name! Amen.
