Some of you are familiar with the saying in the bible (paraphrasing) “Good measure pressed down, shaken together, and running over will men give unto you when you give” (Luke 6:38). God works through people to give to you. You don’t have to beg people to do anything for you. God will move on the hearts of people to do it. God will never fail you, but people can and will. As long as you walk upright with integrity and in the love of God, favor surrounds you as a shield. (Psalm 5:12)
You may feel that you should get support from people you know, such as family and friends, but the word of God says, owe no man nothing but love (Romans 13:8). No one is obligated to do anything for anyone. It should be a choice. It helps me not get into my feelings and to put my trust in God.
Jeremiah 17:5 says: Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength.”
Jeremiah 17: -7-8 7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”
Joseph did not have the support of his family, but God was with him every step of the way. He had the God kind of love. He walked in integrity and the gift God gave him. He went from the pit to the palace, despite obstacles at every turn. Read Genesis 37-45 on the life of Joseph.
Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den. Daniel trusted in God and would not compromise his love and faith in God. As a result, God protected Daniel, and the lions did not touch him. Read Daniel 6.
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Daniel 3:8-25 did not bow to a golden image. They trusted in God. When king Nebuchadnezzar threatened to throw them in the fire for not bowing to a golden image, they said the, “God we serve will deliver us from the fiery furnace.” Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were thrown in the fire but came out without even the smell of smoke. The king said didn’t we throw in three? The men said yes, but the fourth one is like the son of the living God. God delivered them.
Operate in the blessing by trusting, loving, and serving God with our whole being. Trusting in people and things are operating under a curse, which makes you miserable. Psalm 8:34 says, happy is the man who trusts in the Lord. If you are miserable, your trust is not in God.
The best support is God in your court!
Prayer: Lord, I thank you for being faithful, full of compassion and mercy. God, I repent for trusting in people and things causing me to be disappointed and miserable. God, you are the same today, yesterday, and forever; you do not change. My emotions, people, things, and situations may vary, but your character and love fail not. I thank you that as long as my trust is in you when I go through fire and challenging situations, you deliver and see me through it. I will be like a tree always bearing fruit, and my leaves will not wither. I am rooted and grounded in the word. When God is for me, who can be against me? Hallelujah! I give you the praise in Jesus’ name! Amen.
Sharon, forgive me for my late read. Over the past two weeks, I have suffered with a severe sinus infection that had affected my entire head including my throat, nose, eyes and more.
This was an incredible read and is a message that speaks to the greatest volume of my heart as God has never failed me and continues to uplift me, encourage me, shower me with his grace, unfailing love and compassion. I have found myself in some miserable seasons and like the word and you said my trust was not in the Lord during those seasons.
I love that God is absolutely everything to me that man and woman are opposite of!
I aim each day to love God as much as He loves me and to for me to remain in His presence and resting in His will and purpose for my life.
Thank you for such an awesome prayer as well.
May God continue to bless and fill your heart!
Love you
Glory to God! God is cheering you on. You can’t lose with God ordering your steps.
