Enjoy Where You Are And You Will Go Far

God answered my prayer through Joel Osteen and my spiritual mentor, Aunt Mary. I was about to decide on something that I had been planning. Joel Osteen said to let your emotions subside and acknowledge God. I spoke to my aunt the same morning, telling her my plans. She told me to start thanking God for where I am, stay in the presence of God, enjoy the present, and that God will deliver me speedily. I knew I was on the right track. The following day while sitting quietly before God, the phrase came for the blog. My dad’s favorite scripture I live by is 2 Corinthians 13:1: Let every word be established in the mouth of two or three witnesses. My first witness was Joel Osteen, my second was Aunt Mary, and the third was God’s voice the following day. It is a great scripture to use for making decisions.

Since September, I have thanked God for where I am, where he brought me from, and where He is taking me. After listening to an inspirational speaker’s message entitled “Thanksgiving victory”, I began to enjoy where I work, welcomed the challenges, and was glad to assist the customers. Philippians 4:11-13 paraphrasing: Paul said whatever state he was in, he learned to be content with the help of God that gives strength.

Joseph in the bible is a great example to follow. Joseph had a dream just like we have dreams. Joseph encountered problems. We also encounter problems along the way. Joseph didn’t let betrayal from his brothers, slavery, people lying to him, being thrown into prison, temptation, or being forgotten to keep him from operating in his gift of interpreting dreams. He never complained. Joseph even asked one of the prisoners, “Why are you so sad?” He walked in integrity and did not have bitterness/unforgiveness in his heart. He enjoyed and operated in his gift, and God delivered him from being a prisoner. He was set free. He went from being a slave to the ruling. (Read Genesis Chapters 37-41)

The challenges that we face in our present situation are preparation to move us to the next level. Therefore, when we view our situation in this way, we begin to welcome whatever comes our way, realizing it is preparing us for the next level.

Enjoy where you are, and you will go far!

Prayer: God, I thank you for work, the place I live, my family, friends, and where you have me at this present time. I operate in the gifts you gave me. I have an attitude of gratitude. The current state I am in is temporary to where you are taking me. I learn, like Paul, that whatever state I am in, be content and keep moving forward with the plan I have for my life. The challenges I encounter now, I trust you because I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me. I enjoy the journey because it equips me to my next destination. I give you the praise in Jesus’ name!
