How Long Will You Halt Between Two Opinions? Take Dominion!

It is easy to believe what is written in the news, on TV, and on social media. However, when it comes to the word of God, we question it. “Did God really say this?” “I can hardly believe this will happen.” “I tried and nothing is working.” We have all had points in our lives where we have done this. God is saying to you today, “How long will you keep going back and forth in your faith?” Either we believe God, or we do not.

Romans 3:4 paraphrasing: God’s word is accurate and stands over man’s word. God is faithful; man is not because we are born with a sinful nature, and our minds must be renewed daily.

We take control over our situations by submitting to God. James 4:7 says to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee. When negative thoughts come to your mind, you fight them by speaking the word of God. Jesus kept saying, “It is written” whenever the devil came at Him with lies, including twisting the word of God.

We take dominion by learning scriptures for a specific situation. When you are rooted and grounded in the word, you will not be hesitant or waiver in your faith. Psalm 119:11 says God’s word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against Him. We have to meditate on the word day and night for it to be in our hearts (Psalm 1:2). So, when the pressure comes, the word of God comes out of our mouths. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks (Luke 6:45)

Elijah said in 1 Kings 18:21, “How long will you halt between two opinions if the Lord be God follow Him, if not follow Baal. We cannot have it both ways. Speaking the word of God one day and speaking doubt the next. 2 Timothy 4:2 says to be consistent in season and of season. No matter what comes, we still talk, believe, and act on the word of God.

James 1:6-8: Let him ask in faith, without doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

How long will you halt between two opinions? Take dominion!

Prayer: Jesus, I thank you for being the same yesterday, today, and forever; you do not change according to Hebrews 13:8. God, you left us an example to follow in the footsteps of Jesus. God, I repent for believing man over believing your word. I choose to be rooted and grounded in the word of God. I submit to your word; resist the devil, and he flees. I hold fast to my faith to receive what you have for me. I no longer halt between two opinions. I chose today to believe and trust you. I give you the praise, glory, and honor, In Jesus’ name!

  1. This is such a fiery word and holds so much truth. I know for a fact that at many points in my life, I questioned and second guessed a lot concerning God and my faith. Oh but God! Praise God that I now have turned any second guesses on man and not God! Great word and I pray that it reaches the eyes, ears and hearts of all those needing to be and stay encouraged the most when it comes to God’s word!

    1. I receive! Glory to God! I choose to believe the word of God come hell or high water!
