When things happen in our lives: The passing of a loved one, uncertainties in this world, disappointments, experiencing sickness, and dealing with everyday challenges, we can face it with joy from God.
Proverbs 17:22 says A joyful heart is like medicine, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.
Laughter is healing for the body and soul. When I have a challenging day and begin to laugh with a friend or hear something on the radio, tv, or the internet that was funny, I forget about the negative things I experienced.
Nehemiah 8:10 says the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Psalm 28:7 7 The Lord is my strength and shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. So my heart leaps for joy, and with my song, I praise him.
I remember the song I heard as a child that said, “I still have joy, I still have joy, after all the things I’ve been through I still have joy.”
We can have joy as believers and share with others that do not know Jesus that they too can experience the joy that is everlasting through salvation (Romans 10:9-10)
The life after this is more significant than what we face in our day-to-day lives. It is in this hope we can have joy. Have a joyous season!
Laugh and experience the aftermath.
Prayer: Thank you, Lord that through Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection, we have eternal life. I pray that those who are lost will accept Jesus as Lord and Savior so they can experience the joy that will never fade. This joy gives me the strength to face everyday challenges. I thank you that according to Isaiah 53:4, you took our pain and sorrow on the cross, which means I do not have to hold on to it. Hallelujah! I choose to have a joyful heart because it is like medicine and healing for my entire soul and body. God, you give me all things to enjoy richly. I live, love, laugh, and experience the aftermath of a life of joy, knowing that I have eternity with my Heavenly Father. I rejoice in you, Lord, in Jesus’ name! Amen.
Amen!!! What a blessing it is to have joy and to share in it with others! I know I’ve personally experienced a lot of negative things and events but when I choose to see God and his joy for me and in me, it brings joy and peace to my heart and all I want to do is spread and share that joy with others.
Amen! Yes!
