To Win The Fight, Walk In The Light

God wants to be glorified in our lives. We all have been in very dark places: death, loss of job/money, relationships not working out, or health issues. However, there is an opportunity for God to shine His Light in these situations.

During my quiet time, John 11 told me about Lazarus’s death. Mary informed Jesus about her brother’s sickness. Jesus said, “This sickness is not unto death but for the glory of God.” Jesus waited several days before he came to see Lazarus, and he loved Mary and Martha. In Lazarus’ natural state, at that point, he was dead.

When the disciples asked about Lazarus, Jesus said he was asleep and would wake him. When Jesus arrived, Lazarus was buried for four days. When Jesus came to meet them, Martha said to Jesus, “If you had come earlier my brother would not have died.” Jesus told her, “Your brother will rise again.” Martha said, “I know my brother will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to Martha, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; 26 and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” “Yes, Lord,” she replied, “I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.”

Martha told Mary. Mary met Jesus and said the same thing Martha said. Jesus said if you believe, you will see the glory of God. Jesus called for Lazarus, and he rose from the dead.

There have been times in our lives when things are so dark that we ask God, like Martha and Mary, “Where are you God?” But then, right at the end of our dark situation, God shows up. The key is that we must believe, like Mary and Martha, that we will trust God no matter how dark it gets. We even must be reminded like Jesus did Martha: “Didn’t I tell you if you believe you will see the glory of God?”

Remember, God shows up when we are right at the end of everything. Trust Him to see you through. God is a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even if people you know have passed on, the good news is if they knew God, they just passed on to the next life. Even though they are gone from this life, they are still alive with God in eternity.

In the end, God’s glory begins!

Prayer: God, I thank you for being a light in dark times. God, I trust you no matter how dark it gets because you are Jehovah Rohi. You are everything I need, my Shephard. There are times the pressure makes me feel like you are not there. When I cry out, you remind me in your word that you are with me and are a present help in trouble. I thank you that even through my situation and the things I go through, even if it is something I caused, you are still merciful. You take me through my dark conditions as I trust you for your glory. I give you the honor in Jesus’ name!

Light is something that makes things visible. It illuminates the darkness. The only way to defeat the enemy in our lives is to walk in the Light of the word of God.

John 12:35 Amplified Version 35 So Jesus said to them, “The Light is among you [only] a little while longer. Walk while you have the Light [keep on living by it], so that darkness will not overtake you. He who walks in the darkness does not know where he is going [he is drifting aimlessly]. 36 While you have the Light, believe and trust in the Light [have faith in it, hold on to it, rely on it], so that you may become sons of Light [being filled with Light as followers of God].”

Remember to a person that has; more will be given (Matthew 13:12). However, if we do not stay with the Light, it will be taken away. How do we stay with the Light? It is through the word of God. It must be a daily thing. If we continue in the word, we will know the truth, and the truth will set us free (John 8:31-32).

Psalm 119:130 Amplified Version- The unfolding of Your [glorious] words give Light;

Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple (childlike).

Speaking and doing things contrary to the word of God is walking in darkness. Therefore, whenever a situation seems dark, turn on the Light of the word of God and do not let go of it. It is just like when you turn on a Light switch. It stays on until you cut it off.

We should let our Light shine before others so they can see God working and glorify our Heavenly Father (Matthew 5:16).

To Win the Fight, Walk in The Light!

Prayer: I thank you, Heavenly, that you are the Light in darkness. When the earth was dark with no form, you said let there be Light, and the Light came (Genesis 13:3). I stay with the Light of your word and speak to my dark situations. I turn on the Light of your word and stay with it until freedom comes. I repent for letting darkness get the best of me. I know you are with me, and I have the Holy Spirit to lead and guide me so I can understand where I am going. I have the victory through you. I thank you. In Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. Great message Sharon!

    In order for us to win souls, it’s imperative that we walk in light and not in darkness. Also, we aren’t able to be a living example when we are of the world and it’s darkness. I pray that we all keep our light switch on and know that we don’t have to worry about how how the utility bill will be because Jesus paid it all and paid it in full! Glory to God 💃🙌🏽💃
