Don’t Let Opposition, Stop Your Mission

Opposition: Hostile or contrary action or condition.

We all have had hostile situations (challenges and unfair situations) happen to us. However, the ones who keep pushing through the tough times come out victorious.

What is opposing you? Is it being a single parent, obstacles in starting a business, problems on the Job, getting a job, financial trouble, health issues, losing weight, relationship trouble, etc.? Whatever it is, use it as an opportunity to keep going and pushing through.

What does the word of God say about handling difficult times?

2 Timothy 2:3-5 says to endure hardship as a good soldier.

Hebrews 12:1-2 New Living Translation, Therefore, since such a huge crowd of witnesses surrounds us to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

The last blog was about living a life of thanksgiving. Refuse to let anything stop your mission so you can reach your destination. Whatever the weight or sin (unforgiveness, anger, disappointment, procrastination, complaining, living in the past, lust, etc….) that is holding you back, get rid of it and ask God to help you. Having a heart of gratitude, no matter where you are brings you to the next level. Speaking the word of God is fighting the good fight of faith. Remember, when you give your situation over to God, He will direct you and lead you to victory. God always causes us to triumph through Him; that is enough to be grateful.

Faith works by love -Galatians 5:6; read 1 Corinthians 13 and study love.

Job 23:10 says 10, But He knows the way that I take; When He has tested me, I shall come forth as gold.

I Peter 1:7 says: 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,

Challenges come to test your faith. When you read the book of Job, he had things happen to him that seemed unfair: health problems, money problems, his house catching fire, causing the death of his children, his wife telling him to curse God because of what they were going through, etc. All this happened to him, and he was a person that lived a godly life. The good news is he came out like pure gold. He got double back what was taken from him. Job trusted God through it all. Job said, “Though he slays me, yet will I trust Him.” (Job 13:15).

Don’t let opposition stop your mission!

Prayer: God, I thank you for the victory through you no matter what challenges I go through. God, I repent for allowing the weight of sin and challenges to stop my progress. God, I am crying out for your help. God, check my spirit when not responding because faith works by love. God, any unforgiveness, bitterness, and all other weights that I have that are holding me back, reveal it to me. Jesus endured the cross because he knew the victory was on the other side. I follow His example and look to you and fight the good fight of faith, speaking the word of God over my situation. Knowing what is on the other side gives me the strength to keep going. I thank you because it is already done in Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. What a beautiful and encouraging word on not letting opposition stop your mission. Lord knows that I’ve been here several times in my life. I press on and I press through because I ultimately want to please God and bring him honor with my life through faith and love.

  2. Very encouraging! I need this reminder. Opposition from the enemy comes, and sometimes it has me 2nd guessing what I am doing, thinking maybe God doesn’t want me to proceed with something even when I knew He had put in my heart to do so.
Recently, I realized that I needed strengthening in this area and that the lessons I was getting by having the opposition were actually strengthening me.
