If You’re Not Testing, You’re Guessing

Title of the blog was inspired by my Uncle Terry who is a skilled ac technician and business owner. Most technicians (car, ac, appliance, medical, computer, etc…) will tell us that in order to get an issue resolved, it must first be diagnosed/tested. We all have done things on our own without getting the proper help and it cost us. This is true when applying for a job, going to school, etc. In order to move forward, you must first pass the test. How can this apply to our life and spiritual walk?

James 1:12 Amplified Version says 12 Blessed [happy, spiritually prosperous, favored by God] is the man who is steadfast under trial and perseveres when tempted; for when he has passed the test and been approved, he will receive the [victor’s] crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

We receive the prize when we pass the test. When we fall, get back up again. Proverbs 24: 16 says a righteous man falls seven times and get back up. We do not have to go through life guessing. God gave us the Holy Spirit that lives inside us to help us. James 1:5-7 says if any person lacks wisdom let him ask of God in faith without wavering to receive. He will give it to us without blame.

The key is to ask for wisdom in faith or we will not receive it. Just like we depend on professionals to diagnose and resolve our problems, we must do the same with God.

If you are not testing, you are guessing!

Prayer: God, we rejoice in you because you mastered everything. We repent for going through life guessing & trying to figure it out on our own. We ask you for wisdom in faith in order to receive our answer to pass the tests we have in life. We do not have to be ashamed when we fall. We acknowledge where we went wrong, get back up, and go at it again with your help. God, we know that with you we are winners because you already won the victory through your Son Jesus on the Cross. We give you praise in Jesus’ name!
