Webster’s meaning of fate: Outcome.
We all have desires, dreams, and goals we want to obtain in life. As a result, we can become anxious and want to do things our way. However, if we give our situations to God, God always causes us to triumph through Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 2:14). It takes faith and complete trust in God, waiting on His instructions of what to do next.
Me and my sister I love concerts and plays. Most of you are familiar with the Broadway play “Hamilton.” The creator used hip-hop with singing to tell the history of one of the founding fathers, “Alexander Hamilton” The song that stuck with me the most is “Wait for It.”
Here are some of the lyrics that stood out to me the most:
I am the one thing in life I can control
I am inimitable (unique), I am an original
I’m not falling behind or running late
I’m not standing still
I am lying in wait.
Waiting is not sitting around hoping and wishing for something to happen or fall in our laps. True waiting is trusting God every step of the way. As we take steps of faith, we acknowledge God and wait on Him to direct us in which way to go (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Habakkuk 2:2-3 Message: And then God answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision message is a witness pointing to what is coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it does not lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It is on its way. It will go right on time.
It is easy to jump ahead of God when we see things happening for others, not ourselves. It may look like you are behind, but God’s timing is never late. It is perfect. We can write out our vision. Keep it before us and even in a notebook or folder so we can envision it. However, we must trust God with our goals and dreams to succeed. There may be many plans in our hearts, but the Lord’s purpose prevails! (Proverbs 19:21)
Let God determine your fate. Be willing to wait!
Prayer: We magnify you, God, for your unfailing love, grace, and mercy towards us. God, you are faithful and patient with us. We have made plans on our own without consulting you and failed. Lord, you said in your word according to Philippians 4:6-7 to be anxious for nothing but by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving make our requests known, and you will give us peace. We ask for forgiveness for not trusting you when making decisions. We are like Isaiah 40:31; we wait upon the Lord, and you will renew our strength. We will soar like eagles because our trust is in you. We will run and not grow weary. We will walk and not faint. Through faith and patience, we inherit the promise! We are not standing still; we are waiting on the instructions of God as we take steps of faith. We know with God there is no hit or misses. We always triumph through Christ Jesus! We are thanking you now in advance for the victory! In Jesus’ name, Amen.
What a word… what a blessing it is to be reminded on how precious yet important it is to trust in and wait on the Lord! We want and ask for so much yet lack trust in many areas. I absolutely love the prayer!
Glory To God! We are not falling behind we are lying in wait! Taking steps of faith, trusting God with our goals and dreams to lead us in the right direction. Glad you were inspired!
