Do You Want The Devil To Flee? Submit To The Almighty.

I had a dream last Sunday morning. I was asleep in the dream. Two children aged 10 to 12 came into my room from the side door. I woke up immediately before they could do anything. I said with authority: “Get out!” I woke up and asked God what the meaning of the dream was. He spoke to me and said, You see how you took authority, and immediately they ran off?‘ I replied, “Yes,” and then I heard, “You want the devil to flee? Submit to the Almighty” I began rejoicing.

There have been times when we have allowed evil in and around us. But, when evil enters the side door, will we let it in? As believers, we have authority. Genesis 1:28 tells us to have dominion over the earth.

Luke 10:19 King James Version: 19 Behold, I give you the power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: nothing shall hurt you by any means.

We maintain our power by coming under the authority of God and trusting what the word of God says to us.

James 4:7 Amplified Version: 7 So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him], and he will flee from you.

Sometimes we have allowed evil to lay dormant in us until it is hard to break free from it. For example, you tried to rebuke the devil over certain areas of your life, and nothing happened. What does the word of God say about this?

In Matthew 17, Jesus cast out the demons, but the disciples tried and could not.

Matthew 17:19-21 New King James Version: 19 The disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

If there is anything in your life that you tried to get rid of and could not, your answer is prayer and fasting. It means getting alone with God and sacrificing the everyday things you would do (such as social media, people, TV, certain foods you were eating, etc.) so you can hear from God. You replace what you usually would do with meditating on God’s word, listening to God’s word, worshiping/praising unto God, and getting quiet. Isaiah 58:6 says that fasting loses the bands of wickedness (evil). Please read the complete Chapter of Isaiah 58 to understand fasting. Fasting strengthens your faith.

Once you have given control over God, you can walk in victory. You cannot cast out evil with the evil inside you. In Acts 19, starting at verse 15, some Jews tried to cast out demons using the name of Jesus. The demons inside the man said, “Paul, I know, Jesus I know, but who are you?” The man’s demons jumped on them, overpowered them, and then beat them until they were bleeding and naked. The news spread to the other Jews, which made them honor and respect God more. People who practiced sorcery burned the scrolls with witchcraft, and the word of God spread.

The devil and demons should tremble at our command because we walk under the authority of God. Therefore, we can bind and loose things on earth, and they will be loosed in heaven according to Matthew 16:18.

You want the devil to flee? Submit to the Almighty!

Prayer: We come to you thanking you for another word from heaven. God, you are high and lifted above every situation, devil, and demon! We repent for not submitting to you in every area of our lives. We ask for your grace and mercy. In any areas that are out of control in our lives, we pray and fast to loosen the bands of wickedness. We come under your authority by believing and trusting you through your word. We walk in confidence, boldness, and faith in your word that demons tremble at our command. We give you the glory! In Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. Praise God for this inspirational blog and the prayer! I really needed to see, read and place this word in my heart as I often struggle with the authority God has given me.

There’s power in God’s word but there’s even greater power and rewards in our submission to God. Thank you so much for sharing this as well as being a great example of faith and obedience!
