Don’t Settle! Go To The Next Level

Webster’s meaning of settle: To be content with.

Level: a position in a scale or rank (as of achievement, significance, or value)

Everyone on a larger scale or rank in life did not stay content with where they were. It will not go up if you remain in the elevator and do not press any button. To go higher in God, we must move from one place to the next. What does the word of God say about moving to the next level?

Hebrews 6:1-2; 11-13 Easy Read Version So we should be finished with the beginning lessons about Christ. We should not have to keep going back to where we started. We began our new life by turning away from the evil we did in the past and by believing in God. That is when we were taught about baptisms, laying hands on people, the resurrection of those who have died, and the final judgment. Now we need to go forward to more mature teaching.

11 We want each of you to be willing and eager to show your love like that the rest of your life. Then you will be sure to get what you hope for. 12 We don’t want you to be lazy. We want you to be like those who, because of their faith and patience, will get what God has promised.

13 God made a promise to Abraham. And there is no one greater than God, so he made the promise with an oath in his name—an oath that he would do what he promised. 14 He said, “I will indeed bless you. I will give you many descendants. 15 Abraham waited patiently for this to happen, and later, he received what God promised.

Let us as believers move forward like Abraham (through our faith in action and patience in remaining steadfast to what we believe) to get what is promised to us. First, like Joshua Chapter 1, we must meditate and speak the word day and night. Then we will make our way prosperous and have success.

Do not settle! Go to the next level!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I want to thank you for sending your Son Jesus to die for us. Thank you for leaving us an example of how to live a victorious life. Thank you for the written word and for giving us the Holy Spirit to guide us. God, we repent for not being diligent in certain areas of our lives and trusting in your word. God, we desire to go higher in you by living a lifestyle of faith, applying an action, and remaining patient (being steadfast in trusting what you have promised and done for us.) By meditating and speaking your word day and night, we receive everything you have for us. In Jesus’ name!
