As I was meditating on Bill Winston “Divine Deliverance” and meditating the word of God throughout the day, the phrase came for the blog. Bill Winston said something that resonated with me. He said, “God can only deliver as far as we can see.”
If all we see is debt, relationship problems, sickness, death, catching the virus, or things going from bad to worse then that is what we will receive. If we keep our focus on what the Word of God has to say about our situation, we will receive more than we could even imagine or think. A telescope helps you to see things that are distant. God can help you see things that seem distant and bring them to reality. What does the word of God say about changing your focus?
This is for believers in Christ (those who do not know Him receive Him now Romans 10:9-10): Colossians 3:1-2 Amplified Version Therefore if you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, sharing in His resurrection from the dead], keep seeking the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind and keep focused habitually on the things above [the heavenly things], not on things that are on the earth [which have only temporal value]
We are to focus on things that are heavenly according to the Word of God, not according to how we feel or what we can see with our natural eyes.
Philippians 4:8 King James Version says 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
The goodness and the nature of God is what we need to focus on as believers.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 17 For our present troubles are small and will not last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! 18 So we do not look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
Glory be to God! Even with the troubles we are experiencing now, we should look to God who knows the end, the beginning and even what is in between because He is all knowing. Like David in Psalm 121:1-2, We look to the hills for our help. Our help comes from God who made heaven and earth. God can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all we can ask or think according to the power of God that works in us Ephesians 3:20.
Fix your gaze, you will be amazed!
Prayer: Thank you God for being with me and living inside me. I repent for focusing on the current troubles. I fix my eyes on you. Whatever is good, virtue, and praise, I think/focus on these things. The current troubles are temporary but God you are eternal! You can do exceedingly, abundantly, above all I can ask or think with your power working in me. I give you the praise glory and honor in Jesus name! Amen.
Amen! Amen!! Amen!!! My gaze is fixed and completely set on the kingdom of God and the living word which is my guide for Here and that shall get me there!
