Trust No Man, Only God Can

view

As we face the everyday challenges in life, it is good to have people we can trust to help us through those challenges. But remember, only God can get us out of certain situations that a natural person cannot.

David in Psalm 121:1-2 said I would lift my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help?2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.

There are questions only God can answer. There are problems only God can solve. Ask God because He is the creator and all-knowing. Pray and spend quiet time with God. Praise/worship God, and the answer will be revealed if we stay consistent.

Jeremiah 17:5-8: 5 This is what the Lord says: “Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who draws strength from mere flesh and whose heart turns away from the Lord. 6 That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.7 “But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. 8 They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

We are operating under a curse if we put our trust in the church, government, president, the wealthy, family, friends, etc. We are operating in the blessing when our trust is in God. Get to know God if you do not know Him. Spend time with Him. It is the best relationship a person can ever have.

Psalm 108:6; 12-13 6 Save us and help us with your right hand, that those you love may be delivered. 12 Give us aid against the enemy, for human help is worthless.13 With God, we will gain victory, and he will trample down our enemies.

David recognized that without God’s help, they were worthless in and of themselves. Therefore, let us as people of God look to God for wisdom, guidance, and help daily in every area of our lives. Let us stand in the gap for those who are weak. Let God arise, and the enemies are scattered.

As I was writing the blog, a song came to me by Richard Smallwood called “Total Praise.” The lyrics are: “Lord, I will lift mine eyes to the Hills. Knowing my help, is coming from you. Your peace you give me in times of the storm. You are the source of my strength. You are the strength of my life. So I lift my hands in total praise to you.”

Trust no man! Only God Can!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for being my help. I look to you, not other people or even my knowledge and strength. I am like David; I look to the hills for my help. My help comes from you, God. In Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. This is true, with so much going on in this world we have to TRUST THAT GOD WILL BRING HIS CHILDREN THROUGH!

    1. Yes! 🙌. I remember Vicky said that was your mom’s scripture I look to the hills from which comes my help. My help comes from the Lord.
