Wrongs people have done can hang over them like a cloud.
However, we can stay guarded against any attack, and it will not be remembered anymore when you are walking in love.
I Peter 4:8 And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
Galatians 6:1-5 Amplified Version Brothers, if anyone is caught in any sin, you who are spiritual [that is, you who are responsive to the guidance of the Spirit] are to restore such a person in a spirit of gentleness [not with a sense of superiority or self-righteousness], keeping a watchful eye on yourself, so that you are not tempted as well. 2 Carry one another burdens. In this way, you will fulfill the requirements of the law of Christ [that is, the law of Christian love]. 3 For if anyone thinks he is something [special] when [in fact] he is nothing [special except in his own eyes], he deceives himself. 4 But each one must scrutinize his work [examining his actions, attitudes, and behavior]. Then he can have the personal satisfaction, and inner joy of doing something commendable without comparing himself to another. 5 For every person will have to bear [with patience] his burden [of faults and shortcomings for which he alone is responsible].
It is accessible to finger-point and gets in our emotions with others. But, if we stay in the Spirit and examine/judge ourselves, we are walking in love and will not be considered.
John 8:4-11 NIV Version: “Teacher, this Woman was caught in the act of adultery. 5 In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” 6 They were using this question as a trap to have a basis for accusing him. But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. 7 When they kept questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” 8 Again, he stooped down and wrote on the ground.9 At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones, until only Jesus was left, with the Woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” 11 “No one, sir,” she said. “Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”
We should love and encourage each other to do good work. A good passage to read is Galatians 5:13-28. It deals with walking in love, the works of the flesh, and the works of the Spirit as people of God.
Let us judge ourselves, walk in love, and deal with things spiritually as people of God.
Read my June 3, 2018, blog post Release the Grudge God Is the Judge. It will bless you.
Where sin hovers, love covers!
Prayer: God, thank you for your unconditional love. Lord, I repent for judging people out of my emotions. I view people through the eyes of God. I consider myself when I see a brother/sister in Christ that has fallen. I speak the truth in love because love covers a multitude of sins. I encourage my brothers and sisters in Christ to do good works and pray for them. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
