I’ve Gone Through Every Avenue, But God I Lean On You

avenue

Webster’s meaning; Avenue- (1) a way of access route. (2) Channel of pursuing a desired object (4) Broad road or street

Lean: (1) to cast one’s weight to one side for support. (2) to rely on for support or inspiration. (3) to incline in opinion, taste, or desire

Things happen in life, good and evil, that alter our route and desired destination. There are situations we cannot explain that can leave us speechless.

Because of Jesus’ sacrifice, His life bore every circumstance (past, present, and future) and nailed it on the cross; we can rely on/cast that weight on Him.

Psalm 55:22 New King James Version says, Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

No matter what avenue or road you are on, know that whatever comes, we can cast it on God, and He will keep you. It will not stop you from getting to your destination and the purpose God created you for.

I love this Bible verse by Paul:  Romans 8:38-39 Living Bible (TLB) 38 For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death cannot, and life cannot. The angels will not, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. So our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, 39 or where we are—high above the sky or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.

Glory to God! Because Jesus took everything on the cross, no matter what situation (high or low), we can lean and trust in His divine purpose. That makes us unstoppable, and we can finish strong.

Paul Ending: Paul’s Valedictory6 For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

Paul went through a lot, just like many of us, but he finished strong and was able to rest because he lived out the purpose God had for him. We can do the same.

I have gone through every avenue, but I lean on you!

Prayer: Lord, I thank you for being faithful. I can count on you, God, when things are challenging and unexpected. I let nothing separate me from your love God. I finish strong by holding on to your word. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
