A lot of us make decisions out of emotion, impulse, fear, obligation, desperation, anger, etc… Wisdom waits until emotions subside so you can get revelations and then act. There are some examples in Proverbs, the book of Wisdom, on making decisions.
Proverbs 16:8 You may make your plans, but God directs your action.
Proverbs 11:4 14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but there is safety in the multitude of counselors.
And the scripture most people at church are familiar with is Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
How do we obtain sharp vision? It is through revelation.
Revelation: 1. (a) an act of revealing or communicating divine truth b: something that God reveals to humans 2. (a) making known (B) an enlightening or astonishing disclosure. (C) a pleasant, often enlightening surprise
An excellent example in the bible of revealed knowledge from Matthew 16:13-19 Living Translation 13 When Jesus came to Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who are the people saying I am?” 14 “Well,” they replied, “some say John the Baptist; some, Elijah; some, Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.” 15 Then he asked them, “Who do you think I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered, “The Christ, the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” 17 “God has blessed you, Simon, son of Jonah,” Jesus said, “for my Father in heaven has personally revealed this to you—this is not from any human source. 18 You are Peter, a stone; and upon this rock I will build my church; and all the powers of hell shall not prevail against it. 19 And I will give you the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven; whatever doors you lock on earth shall be locked in heaven; and whatever doors you open on earth shall be open in heaven!”
This is powerful. When you have the spirit of God inside of you, He can reveal things that are not in the books. God reveals Himself to those who have a heart for Him. When something is revealed to you, you are unstoppable. The enemy does not stand a chance. We can walk in authority, speak, and it will happen because it reveals knowledge.
We get revelation through meditating on the word of God, getting quiet before God, spending time with God, and having a love for God by doing what the word says.
Make A Decision with a clear vision!
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your Wisdom; it goes beyond natural knowledge. God, I meditate your word day and night so revelation knowledge will come to me. Then, I act on the revelation knowledge for results. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
