Everyone has heard the saying FEAR is false evidence appearing real. The devil uses fear to keep us from moving forward.

In Job 3:25, Job said, “The thing I greatly feared has come upon me.”

We must take our thoughts captive according to 2 Corinthians 10:5-7 by meditating, doing, and speaking the word of God.

2 Timothy 1:7 says God has not given the spirit of fear but power, love, and a sound mind.

We resist fear through faith in the word of God.

The doctor says you have cancer. You resist cancer with the word of God by saying, according to Mark 11:23, I speak to the mountain of cancer and say be removed and cast into the sea. I do not doubt in my heart but believe what I say is already done; I have what I say. Exodus 23:25: Because I serve the Lord God, He blesses my bread and water and takes sickness away from me. Isaiah 53:5: With His stripes, I am already healed!

If you are in debt and do not have enough to pay your bills, you need to speak the word of God by saying, (paraphrasing), “According to Philippians 4;19 my God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Deuteronomy 28:12-13: I am the lender not the borrower, the head and not the tail. Whatever I set my hands to do, prospers. Romans 13:8: I owe no man nothing but to love. Colossians 2:14: Jesus has blotted out my debt with its obligations and nailed it to the cross.”

For believers who tithe and trust God, Malachi 3:10-11: Because I tithe, I am proving to God that he will open the windows of heaven and pour me out a blessing I will not have room enough to receive. He will also rebuke the devour over my situation.

These are a few examples. Get to know the word of God so you can counteract fear with the word of God.

When Jesus came from a 40-day (about one and a half months) fast, the devil kept coming at Him in Mark 4:  Jesus kept speaking the word of God. He kept saying, “It is written.”

Jesus left us an example to follow him.

James 4:7 says to submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee.

We submit to God by meditating, speaking, believing, and acting on the word of God.

Paraphrasing: Romans 3:4 says let God’s word be true. Everything is a lie.

Things are not as they appear; resist fear!

Prayer: Lord, thank you for being the truth. I resist fear because it is not from you. I thank you, God, for love, power, and a sound mind (the mind of Christ). I resist the word of God. I cast down any negative thoughts with the word of God. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
