There are things in life that will have you feeling cold, barren, exposed, lacking, not hopeful, and depressed. Praying alone is not enough. To get through a trying situation, speak to it with the word of God.

There are a few examples in the bible where Jesus spoke to His situation. It was how the earth was formed. Jesus left us an example to follow him.

Jesus speaks to the storm: Matthew 8:25-27:  25 And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.26 And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.27 But the men marveled, saying, what manner of man is this, that even the winds and the sea obey him!

Jesus speaks to the fig tree: Mark 11:12-44 New King James Version: 12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, “Let no one eat fruit from you ever again. “And His disciples heard it.

20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away.” 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

It is time to face our storms and mountains by speaking to it.

Speak to that illness and say with Jesus’ stripes I am healed. Speak to grief and say God you took my grief and carried my sorrows. When dealing with emotional pain, say God you are near to the brokenhearted and save the crushed in spirit. Speak to debt and say I owe no man nothing but to love. Do this while you are experiencing lack, emotional hurt/pain, and sickness. The more you speak it, the more it takes root in your heart and then whatever you speak manifests.

When things seem bleak, the word of God you speak.

Prayer: God thank you for creating the earth I live on with your words. God thank you for making me into your image and likeness. I can speak to my situation in faith and my situation changes no matter how dark the situation is. I speak the word of God and it brings light to my situation. In Jesus name! Amen.
