There is a phrase that most people are familiar with: “A mind is a terrible thing to waste.” This statement is true. It would help if you controlled what comes to your mind.
God used Tammy Bradley Scott and Bill Winston’s tweet as confirmation and his sermon “Think It, Speak It, Manifest It (must watch), as well as Dr. Tony Evans to spark this topic of the mind.
A lot of us talk about Adam/ Eve and blame Eve for eating the forbidden fruit. However, each time you let a negative thought or a thought that is not of God lingers, it is just like eating the forbidden fruit. If the thought is not according to the word of God, cast it down. Meditate and speak the word of God.
Romans 12:2 says to be transformed by renewing your mind.
My favorite scripture to quote when negative thoughts come to my mind is Philippians 4:8-9. The Amplified Version says 8 Finally, [believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. 9 The things which you have learned, received, and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you.
The devil wants to get your mind so you can speak it to become a reality. The devil knows he has to get you to speak the wrong thing, so he plants a thought in your head. We are speaking spirits, so guard your mind. If your mind is not renewed when the pressure comes, you will speak negatively and create what you didn’t want to happen.
Job said, the thing I feared has come upon me. Because Job dwelled on negative thoughts about losing everything, even though things were going well, he spoke it, and it happened. He ended up losing his health and money, and his house burned down, along with his children dying.
Proverbs 30:32 King James Version says if you have thought evil put your hand over your mouth.
This is powerful; if you know a thought is not of God, put your hand over your mouth because words are spirit. John 6:63 says the words I speak are spirit and life.
2 Corinthians 10:5 says 5 Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalted itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
Proverbs 4:20-21 21 Let them not depart from your eyes; keep them during your heart.22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
When you take control of your thoughts and meditate on the word of God, it gives your life. You will also receive healing physically and emotionally by meditating on the word of God.
