Restore: to bring back to or put back into a former or original.
Better: to make more complete or perfect, to surpass in excellence, more excellently, and to a higher or greater degree.
God can take a broken and disastrous situation and give it back in a more significant, perfect, complete, and higher state because His ways are higher than ours.
Joel 2:25-26 New King James Version says 25, “So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, And the chewing locust, my great army which I sent among you.26 You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame
Hallelujah! That is what I call restoration; not only will he restore, but you will have plenty, be satisfied, and never be put to shame.
Most people go to a place that specializes in restoring whatever they need restoring.
We must come to God because He specializes in restoring you spiritually, emotionally, and naturally.
It could be something we or someone else caused, but if you come to God, He will have mercy on you and restore you.
I love the song by Ton’ex, “Restoration,” which sums up what is needed to be restored.
Here are some of the lyrics:
Raise your hands.
He’ll reclaim you.
He’ll restore you, and restoration begins.
Raise your hands–raise your hands.
He’ll reclaim you–he’ll reclaim you.
He’ll restore you, and restoration begins.
The second part I love the most:
Could you give it up–give it up?
Turn it loose!
Just surrender, and restoration begins.
To be restored, we must let go/turn loose of anything that is keeping us from the best. Then, surrender to God, and restoration begins.
God will restore better than before!
Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for another word from you. I surrender everything to you. I let go of anything holding me back from receiving complete restoration. Lord, continue to work on me. Thank you, Lord, for restoring the years the enemy has stolen. In Jesus’ name! Amen.
