I think of my Heavenly Father as a natural father: adviser, protector, disciplinarian, loving, and provider.
It is easy to view our heavenly Father as a disciplinarian. However, if we really knew our Father, we would know it is out of love and that He wants the best for us. Therefore, He disciplines us.
Hebrews 12:6 Amplified Version says 6 For the Lord disciplines and corrects those whom He loves.
Whenever we go to our Heavenly Father, He accepts us back no matter how far we have strayed.
John 6 :37 Amplified Version says 37 the one who comes to Me I will most certainly not cast out [I will never, reject anyone who follows Me.)
We can go to our Heavenly for what we need as our provider, protector and adviser.
Matthew 7:7-8 New King James Version says 7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?10 Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
As long it is according to the will of God and it is not harmful, when we ask something of our Heavenly Father (just like our natural father does for his child or children), it will be given to us.
When I was a child, I kept reminding my father over and over what I wanted until he gave it to me. If it was not good for me and harmful, he would explain it to me so I could understand.
Even though our Heavenly Father disciplines us, it is out of His love for us and because He wants the best for us. If we come to Him, He will not cast us aside and if we ask anything according to His will, he gives it to us.
You may ask, well how do I know He is listening and hears what I ask of Him?
1 John 5:14-15 says 14 Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
Our Heavenly Father wants us to come to Him when we need help and not try to figure out on our own, just like a natural father loves when their child/children come to him for help.
You are not a bother, to your Heavenly Father!
Prayer: Lord thank you for being my Heavenly Father. I thank Lord for protecting, providing and loving me. I repent for doing things on my own not seeing you for who you are. God when I come to you, I know you will not cast me aside. It is your pleasure to give me everything that is good. I thank you in Jesus’ name! Amen.
