Equipped For The Gift

gift

We are equipped for the gift(s) God has given us.

Ephesians 2:10 New King James Version says: For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.

God has already put inside us the tools we need to operate in our gift/gifts.

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. That is the key to being successful at whatever we do. We cannot do it without God. That is why he gives us big dreams that we cannot handle without him.

Where do our gifts come from?

James 1:17 Amplified Version says 17 Every good thing given, and every perfect gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of lights [the Creator and Sustainer of the heavens], in whom there is no variation [no rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [for He is perfect and never changes].

God gave me the gift of encouragement. He led me to fast and gave me a dream to do freelance writing. I had to depend on God to find out what kind of freelance writing He wanted me to do. After researching, blogging jumped out at me. I spoke to a lady who advised me in my writing. I asked her what I should blog about. She said what you are passionate about? Immediately I said I like to encourage people. Immediately, the revelation of knowledge came. In every situation I dealt with, God would give me a phrase. People liked the words and suggested I should do merchandise and clothing with the phrases on them. Each week I never know what the next phrase or blog will be about. I must depend totally on God. He put the gift of encouragement inside me, and He leads me through it.

It reminds me of Joseph. Because he had the gift to interpret dreams and had wisdom from God to operate a business, his gift brought him to the top. His gift did not come without obstacles, but God was with him through it all.

God is with us through it all. God gave us the gift and grace to go through any challenge that comes with it. If we keep our eyes on God and walk in love, we can rise to our highest potential.

We are equipped for the gift!

Prayer: God, I thank you for trusting me with the gift of encouragement. I know every perfect gift comes from you. I trust you completely with my gift. In Jesus’ name! Amen.

  1. Sharon I love your blog! It brings so much inspiration and wisdom to those who read it. This weeks topic “Equipped for the Gift” really hits home for me because God assigned me to write a book nearly 3 years ago and I’ve yet to finish because I began to doubt my gift as well as the qualifications God gave me. Oh But God… with people like you and this blog, I am forever encouraged and inspired to go higher and lee at it. Love you so much!
