It’s Within Your Reach, Launch Out Into The Deep

It is time to go the extra mile to obtain what God has for us. Some of us just have to do what God already told us to do. However, some of us are a step, prayer, and praise away from receiving.

Obedience to God

In John 2 Jesus turned water into wine, it took obedience to receive it.  Mary the mother of Jesus said to the servants “whatever he says to you, do it. When they did what Jesus told them to do by filling six pots with water, the water turned to wine.

Taking A Step of Faith

The woman with the issue of blood in Luke 8 said if she could just touch Jesus garment, she knew she would be made whole. When she took a step of faith, pressed through the crowd, and reached out to touch His garment, she was healed.

Prayer

When Peter was in prison in Acts 12 the church were in constant prayer. There is power in prayer and strength in numbers. As believers we know where there is two or three gathered in Jesus name, God shows up. Because of the church praying for Peter, an angel showed up, struck Peter on the side, raised him up, and told Peter to get up. When he got up, the chains fell off and the angel lead him out of prison.

Praise

In Acts 16 when Paul and Silas were in prison they prayed and sang praise while in chains and they were freed from prison.

Come to God for direction.

Isaiah 55 New King James Version says Everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; And you who have no money, Come, buy and eat. Yes, come, buy wine and milk Without money and without price. Why do you spend money for what is not bread, and your wages for what does not satisfy? Listen carefully to Me, and eat what is good, and let your soul delight itself in abundance.

I have tried to do things on my own before and it backfired on me. If it seems hard, and you are tired of struggling, give it over to God and let Him direct you in what to do.

Proverbs 13:15 King James Version says 15 Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.

transgressor is a person who goes against moral code or law (sin).

The Message Version Mathew 11:28-30 says 28-30 “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you will recover your life. I will show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I will not lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”

God’s way is so much better than ours.

A good example is Simon which is now known as Peter in Luke 5.  Jesus told Simon to let down His nets for a catch. Simon said “Master, we have toiled all night and haven’t caught anything, but at your word I will let down the nets.

Toil from Webster’s definition is to struggle, battle, to work hard, and long.

Sometimes God can be telling us to do something simple, and we question it because it does not make sense to the mind or intellect. Hearing the voice of God takes practice. You may miss it a few times. However, if you keep on doing it, you will learn the voice of God. It is about launching out into the deep and stretching your faith.

Are you tired of doing it your way?  Do you want results?  Acknowledge God. He will direct you in which way to go. Until you have the answer, keep thanking God for directing you in which way to go, and do what you can do.

Launch out into the deep, it is within your reach!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for giving me life and everything in it. God whatever you say for me to do. I do it. You are the all knowing God of wisdom that is not from this world.  Lord I repent for doing things on my own and procrastinating. I thank you God according to your word I diligently obey your voice and all the blessings come on me and overtake me. God I have toiled and it has been hard doing it my way, but at your word I let down my net, God I trust in your word and find rest. God your yoke is easy and burdens are light. I reach out and grab it in Jesus name! Amen.
